I always wanted a Rolex Submariner watch but couldn't justify the thousands of dollars they bring now. I figured a nice quality replica would have to do, so I researched what's available and ordered one.
My research pointed me to a site called Blue Fakes,
Replica Rolex - Replica Watches - Replica Watch - Rolex Watch - BlueFakes, based out of NYC. They offered good prices on the "best" replicas, those which featured Swiss ETA 27 jewel movements and details identical to a real Rolex. I called them ... they were great on the phone and very helpful ... but only sold COD since they no longer accepted credit cards. (Their web site indicated that all major credit cards were accepted.) Overnight Fed Ex shipping was included in the $585 price for the Submariner with the Swiss ETA 27 jewel movement.
The watch came Fed Ex, as promised, and I turned over a money order for $585. The watch was in a cheap box and had no instructions with it. No invoice was included. The watch itself looked very nice but, unfortunately, wasn't running. I gently shook it to activate the automatic movement .. nothing. I did a little research and found this type of movement sometimes needs to be manually wound. I did, but nothing happened. I also noticed that one of the numeral inserts had fallen out and was now loose under the crystal. I called Blue Fakes right back and they were very gracious, offering to overnight me a new watch and issue a call tag for the return of the broken one. That never happened. I can now not reach this company because all I get is an answering machine. I have left numerous messages and never been called back. Once, I did get through and was hung up on as soon as I explained my problem.
I have since done further research and found that this company, Blue Fakes, as well as virtually all the online outfits that sell "high quality" fakes, are all scam sites. There are no Swiss movements being sold with these watches, nor are there any high quality Italian or Asian movements. They are all basically junk movements in Chinese cases. All the information on the Internet extolling the virtues of these scam web sites and their watches is fake. Now, after the fact, I have found countless complaints of fraud posted for virtually every fake replica web site and seller. The couple of replica watch "review" web sites I used turned out to be nothing but fronts for these crooks.
I have filed complaints with the BBB, the FBI, and the NYC AG's office. I'm sure nothing will come of it and accept the fact that my money is lost. I do blame myself for allowing myself to be so easily duped.
This is a warning to all who have thought of buying a "nice quality" replica watch. They are all basically the same junk, so just buy the cheapest one you can find. Don't believe any of the claims about Swiss movements, money back guarantees, or 5 year warranties. Whatever you pay, and prices can go up to nearly $1,000, you will be sent Chinese junk. Years ago I bought a fake Rolex in NY's Chinatown for $12. It kept perfect time and lasted a few years before it just stopped working and I threw it out. Now, for $585, I own one that won't even work!
I have also since learned that it is illegal to sell repica merchandise of any type. I didn't know that when I ordered the watch. I feel like an idiot for falling for such an obvious scam ... the red flags were all there, but I just didn't see them. In any case Blue Fakes and all their alias web sites and bogus "replica watch review" sites, are nothing but scams who will steal the money of anyone sucked into their web of lies and trickery.
