Thank you Netflix.

This is one corporation with very high standards...

Netflix Refunds Money Without Being Asked | Techdirt

Netflix Refunds Money Without Being Asked
from the that's-how-it's-done dept

With so many stories out there of companies screwing over customers or making life difficult for users, it's always nice to hear a good story. Apparently, Netflix recently had a problem with their Xbox video streaming, and proactively refunded money to customers without them asking. I can't think of any other company I've heard of that's done that. Hell, I remember a past broadband provider who I would call (regularly) without outages, and the best they would do is say that after the service came back, I could call and then they would process a refund -- knowing that when that finally happened hours later, it wouldn't be worth the hassle to call back in and wait on hold.

AWOOOO!

Yeah, I recently got a (small) but unsolicited refund from BestBuy for being overcharged sales tax.

Maybe in internal audit discovered it and maybe there is a law requiring it.

But anyway, that's the way!

There should be some communications law that requires telcoms and cable and ISPs etc. to refund unsolicited for outages.

It is a hassle to experience them in the first place and then remember to go through the hassle of getting a refund.

It should be computerized and automatic.

Yes, it SHOULD BE computerized, and automatic.

But then the corporations wouldnt be able to hold on the millions of dollars it makes from these "minor problems". To many corporations decide that keeping all that deliciously free money is far more important than customer opinion.

There is a solution, Vern, join them and rake your own fees in, which would offset what you paid.... They are getting rich with all of those "minor problems" which is why corporate bankruptcy is the lowest in 50 years...

When I called to cancel my subscription to Netflix, it literally took less than 15 seconds. The first person you talk to, will actually help you with everything you need. That is a revolution these days in customer service.

I would recommend Netflix to anyone and everyone looking to rent or stream movies.
