Deal Extreme

Hi,
i just wanted to post my recent experience while buying a watch from Deal extreme website.the watch arrived on time but had a cracked back cover.Possibly resulted from a blunt impact during transport.I informed Deal Extreme about the damage and requested them to send me a new one i exchange for the damaged one.i was pleasently surprised when they replied promptly and gave me instructions to complete the formalities.i sent my watch back to them and they even agreed to compensate me for the expenses that I had to bear.My new watch arrived in time and perfectly new condition. Thanks to Deal Extreme,I had a good experience with online shopping.

Thanks
Abhishek

DEAL EXTREME ARE SCAMMERS I HAVE READ LOTS OF PEOPLE HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED DEAL EXTREME TAKING OUR MONEY AND NOT REFUNDING AS THEIR WEBSITE SAYS THEY WILL. I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO KNOW WHY THE GOVERNMENT DO NOT CRACK DOWN ON THESE INTERNET BUSINESS THAT SELL CHEAP IMITATION PRODUCTS AND DO NOT GIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE BUT CHEAT MANY PEOPLE CAUSING STRESS AND HARDSHIP BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT AN HONEST COMPANY
DO NOT BUY FROM DEAL EXTREME READ REVIEWS BEFORE YOU INTEND TO BUY FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY

I have ordered from Dealextreme over 10 times with various items and have never had to send anything back luckily. Apart from the long wait for delivery sometimes (because it ships from Hong Kong for FREE), dealextreme has been great to me. They always respond to my inquiries and there is a forum for customers on the site for quicker responses. You get what you pay for. If you buy an item for $1.50 that ships thousands of miles for free, what do you really expect to get? Buy.com or Amazon-type service? There are MUCH worse retail sites than DealExtreme out there. They do a great job for the prices they offer and the presumably incredible order volume they must have.

I am about ready to file a dispute with PayPal and/or my credit card company. I had to send back an item because it looked used and was broken, so they said they would issue me a store credit. Well I sent it back, they received it, then told them the items I wanted using my store credit(and paying the remaining balance), and the customer service agent replied via the website message system, asking me what I wanted again. So I replied again as to what I wanted but they have not responded in 5 days. These people I think play games to wear you down, so you will just give up and they won't have to issue a refund/replacement.

BTW "sonnychen" from DealExtreme who responded to my resellerratings feedback, saying to send back the item and you would take care of everything, and to DX "Tiffany" my DealExtreme.com customer service agent, please honor your promises to resolve this situation.

I feel your pain. I was finally able to receive a full refund after a long ordeal of repeated polite requests for a refund. I sent my PayPal payment 9/2009 and the refund came 2/2010, what is that, like 5 months? Until I complained on ResellerRatings I was getting nowhere. As soon as I complained in public, they started the refund, but it still took a few weeks longer. I've been shopping on the internet forever and even including eBay, this was THE WORST INTERNET SHOPPING EXPERIENCE OF MY ENTIRE LIFE. BUYER BEWARE.

It's great that you've had good experiences with them. The mark of a good business is not how they perform when things go well, it's how they behave when things don't go well. I've ordered many cheap items from other HK resellers via eBay and I've not had problems. In my case, it was a $40+ purchase that they never sent. I would have been forgiving if it was defective. It's how they handle the refund/return/exchange where things go completely off the tracks. The item I ordered was not listed as backordered and they never notified me that it wasn't shipping until AFTER I contacted them. They just quietly took my money and went silent. Of course after I started asking questions they responded right away. But it was all kinds of useless. I kept asking for a refund and they kept dragging their feet. Until I made a scene on here, I got NOTHING. 5 months from my payment to the refund. True story.

DX is reputable and a great place to buy stuff cheap.

I have ordered about ten times from DealExtreme. 95% of the orders delivered good stuff as advertised. One order for 10 high power LEDs had 2 defective and DE promptly replaced them no charge, no hassle. So they are an honest seller. Their very low pricing would lead intelligent buyers not to expect the fastest service and best quality. A couple of items out of maybe 30 total were not adequate quality. A cheap auto compass reads backwards from the driver's viewpoint, almost humorous; also no magnetic compensator, which is mandatory in an auto. The blade of a scraper keeps falling out. But the set of 3 tweezers were of amazing quality, like Swiss made at 1/10 the price. But if one applies some common sense they will realize not to order stuff that requires exacting quality. My biggest complaint is lack of specifications on what you are considering buying (when it matters) and sometimes not having the correct specifications. I love them for ordering experimental parts because I can fill in the blanks and figure out what is missing.

Thank you ResellerRatings for a great, dependable service!
