I think my next PC would be from the Dell outlet ( refurbs/scratch and dent).
I got a PC from AVA Direct about 1.5 years ago....came with a heatsink I had to modify to get working and the 3rd DIMM was defective. So I'm not so impressed with them anymore.
There's also ABS Computer Technologies - The ULTIMATE in Gaming Desktops, Gaming Notebooks, and PC gaming! which is the sister company of NewEgg. I just don't like the small cases they have.
Puget/Maingear...too expensive.
I also was looking at VigorGaming.com because of TEC cooling.
P.S. whoa, I put in the URL and it got changed to all of that!

If you're referring to the ABS link I posted, that was changed/enhanced by RR, not me.
I also wasn't asking for support....the DIMM issue was handled long ago, but is something that should have been caught during the build/testing process.
This forum is called "Merchant Discusion", is it not? I guess I know why I haven't posted on these forums in several years.

The topic of the thread is 'Where to buy a pc?'. You were on-topic.
A couple of posts have also been removed from this thread.

Good PC for not much money? DELL
Yes, there are better companies out there. However, dell is the best value for the money. You get a good quality computer and a responsive service on it.

I've been flip flopping on computer manufacturers for months. One bad comment on a manufacturer and I reconsider and go back and look at the same thing I did a month ago. Right now I'm seriously considering avadirect even though I've seriously considered others. I've kind of forgot about this outfit. It just seems like too much of a risk to go with visionman, and those cyberpower clones. Everyone's prices are pretty competitive but the avadirect supposedly great quality control is really drawing me in. Most people on resellerratings have nothing but great things to say about them. It also gets an A+ from the BBB.
Then there's cybertronpc.com that seems like it may be good as well from the few reviews on them that are out there. I believe their BBB rating is an A.
There's Directron which I just heard about from one of the forums members. and they look good but unless you pay for air shipping and an extra assembly charge your computer comes in pieces. At least that is how I understand it from their site. They get a great rating from the BBB as well.
Maybe I should stop looking at HPs and Dells every time I hear something bad about one of these manufacturers. It seems as though I can't stop going to Dell and HPs websites. I don't know if Dell and HP are that bad though. I kind of doubt a lot of what I read about them. Maybe they're just too big and people don't like them because they're evil? I don't know, maybe not.

+1 on Dell
Dell may not be the cheapest, but if you get on their email list, there are some deals to be had. Be sure to shop your preferred configuration in more than one Dell "department". Often the same computer is a different price in the Home/Home Office than in the Small/Medium Business stores. In particular, certain components may be priced very differently.
Caution: Buy online only. Their telephone sales people are not to be trusted. In fact, they remind me of some of those Brooklyn camera stores. I suspect they get commission bonuses for unloading old stuff and overselling. I'm an independent IT consultant, and I have too many times been called to setup a computer bought from an online Dell salesperson, and found that the person bought $500 or more too much computer (high-end graphic cards, etc. for data entry clerks, and so on.)
