HomeGoodz:having bad experience with order processing
Wednesday morning (the 17th) I called HomeGoodz.com to verify that they have a Blu Ray player in stock that can be shipped out that day or the next, they said "yes we do." I try to order but they want me to pay for shipping which their website says is free. The salesman says I have to order from the website to get the free shipping, so I do.
Thursday at 3pm (30hrs after ordering) I receive an email to call William at 800-808-1675 x2077 to "verify order." I'm on hold for 10min and have to go to work so I ask my wife to call and verify (I warned her of the real reason they want us to call and I tell her not to buy anything else and insist that the order be shipped by the next morning (Friday)). She called William at x2077 and got it done.
Friday at 2pm I called William at x2077 to get tracking number. He says it hasn't been shipped because it hasn't been verified yet. I told him it was done last night and he said "obviously whoever verified it last night didn't know what they were doing." I told him it was verified by him and he said he had no knowlege of it, but if we do it now he will ship it out that evening by 6pm. Of course the whole time he was trying to get me to add stuff to the order even though every time I emphatically told him "I know what I need and I only want what I already ordered!" Then he asked if I wanted to pay for 2day shipping so I could have it before the holidays and I let him know that I wasn't paying anything extra and if the order was shipped in a timely manner, it would have been delivered before the holidays!!! He gave me a canned 'apology.' I verified again that it would be shipped out that evening by 6pm, he said yes. Then he asked me to do him a favor and go to this site to post a review and I told him I was planning on it and the tone of the review would be determined by the status of my order.
Saturday at 2pm I called but they were closed (I called using the phone number from their website (866-385-4090))and their answering machine answered with "welcome to the New(?) Connection." My order status on their website still shows as "being processed."
As a side note: I place 2 other orders with other online merchants that Wednesday morning, Abt and PC Richards. They were both shipped that same day. The Abt order arrived Friday and I'm expecting the PC Richards order to arrive Monday.

HomeGoodz order canceled
UPDATE:
This morning (Sunday) I had called HomeGoodz at least 8 times. The directory would always answer but would connect me with a phone that would ring and never get answered. At 10:30am I guess the directory agent got tired of me calling so he finally told me to call x1502 at 12 noon.
When I called x1502 the phone would ring and never be answered. I called back to the directory and told him to connect me with a person that was there. Sam finally answered and said my order would not ship until Tues.
I canceled the order through Sam and made him give me a cancellation number, C44.

another update:Homegoodz makes changes
"John" from Homegoodz called me last week letting me know that because of my poor experience he has taken action to remedy the problem. He gave me some excuses: 1) the product is now discontinued (although he couldn't convince me of how this effected my service from several weeks ago with an item they had in stock), 2) the holiday craziness, 3) some new employees that he says has now been fired.
"John" wanted to do something to make it up to me but I let him know there was nothing I wanted from him or the company, nothing could make up for the lost time and effort. I gave him advise how to conduct business so his future customers will return to his company, he seemed to agree.
Anyone with positive experiences would be welcome reading here.

| A reverse address search with WhitePages.com has 29 listings at that address. A HomeGoodz is not listed. It's possible that a newer business is not as yet listed or they could be listed under another name.
I was also unable to locate anything with a BBB search.

HOMEGOODZ.COM gets an F-!!!!
ABSOLUTELY HORIBLE customer service.
There was a problem with my order and I had a rude message on my BUISNESS answering machine... then also had 4 emails in 10 mins all explaining the same problem and asking me to call back.
I did call back when I had the opportunity about an hour later and the phone was answered by ANOTHER rude person... I was put on hold for 15 mins and the lady I ended up talking to was SO RUDE I ended up
CANCELING MY ORDER! It was nuts... They may be cheaper than some others but their service isn't worth CRAP.
(P.S. I found that 4 out of 5 emails on their MAIN site doesn't work, got them all returned except for one)
I'd advise you to shop somewhere else...

Homegoodz.com
Homegoodz.com is a reseller and should be avoided at all possible costs. They deal with outfits like fotoconnection.com and their reputation is unsavory to say the least. I am currently in the process of trying to negotiate the whereabouts of a Dimplex fireplace I ordered from them just last week (Oct. 6). They are not available on Saturdays but are there on Sun. thru Fri. Was told after calling them on Oct. 10 that my order had been shipped. Received no email confirmation of this or an invoice for the amount of purchase. They proceeded to call me Oct. 13 and told me my fireplace would be shipped by truck and the weight and it would be shipped sometime between Oct. 13 and Oct. 15. I asserted my indignation at not receiving an email invoice for the product and the fact they had already declared it was shipped. Today is the 14th and I will call them Thurs. If I don't receive an email confirmation that my order has been shipped I will CANCEL. Found out thru my CC company that they ordered thru Foto Connection.com. My CC has been billed so I hope to see some action soon. Keep you people posted.

update with Homegoodz.com
After 8 days and having to call them to find out the status of my order I was told the delay was due to the fact my order was " special " and they had to build it custom; wonder why their cite said it was in stock???? Told the manager ( Bob whose real name is probably ,Rashide) I wanted to cancel the order...he tried to play on my sympathy saying that even as we spoke they were loading my order onto a cargo plane , but I persisted and eventually he told me the order was cancelled. I had to ask him for a cancellation number as he never volunteered one.
I decided to try somewhere else and I found a site : https://www.qsnelectricfireplaces.com. Bought a different fireplace, although it is of the same manufacturer and it is to be delivered on the 22nd of this month. Received an invoice and was treated like royalty. They were kind enough to remind me that merchandise sold through resellers is not usually warranted. So there's a Caveat that goes down hard. Beware and be prepared when dealing with merchants who don't know what they're doing.

One goes to Home Despot and leaves with a square of shingles and a 46" LCD....
