Reliability checks for out of state purchase

I know from rip off reports that better business bureaus are more than unreliable. To purchase an item from an out of state business, is there another means of checking on their reliability. I would prefer to buy local but the item is just not available. I did check reseller ratings but bobs gun shop does not participate.

Which Bob's Gun Shop are you looking at? A Google search pulls up many different sites.

Looks like they've been around for a while. Try giving them a call first before ordering any parts.

Either way, if you order, come back and give a review so the next person will know. It isn't really a matter of participation on the vendors part, nobody has bought parts through them and came here to leave a review.

Most of the businesses rated on RR are computer or related online resellers. Most really disreputable types in the gun business don't last long as the market is that much smaller. The Arkansas Atty. General's office and/or state consumer protection bureau may offer some info. The state gov't web site usually has links to the various agencies. The search engines are your friend.
. You could try the nearest BBB to the physical location of the gun shop - they should be most happy to pass on any negative reports on a gun-related business as they are choc-a-block with lefties.

RR has gotten ALOT bigger. After seeing this post, I checked out their store rankings. Go and check out all the stores by rating, they're not just computer/tech anymore. Alot of the non tech stuff has low numbers but they're definitely getting reviews from all corners of the web.
