HOTDEALSHOP.COM bad bad blackmail
Hotdealshop is listed with Price Grabber, so what happened really surprised me. The camera I ordered was about the same cost as the others so it was not "too good to be true". After 3 days my order was still pending so I inquired as to why. The same man, Gabriel, that I spoke to before ordering said he did not know why it wasn't shipped yet and that he would call back. He called later that day and said that their fraud dept.(yeah sure) asked me to provide them with photo copies of my credit card, front and back or they would not ship it. He provided me with a FAX number. Of course I called my bank to put a stop to this nonsense. A copy of my card would have given them an exact copy of my signature. I was informed by Chase bank that they had already charged my card 3 days prior. I called Gabriel again to cancel my order, and he said that was not his department (I called the customer service number) and he said I would have to wait for an E-mail for the actual cancellation. I waited two hours and called once again. This time I got someone else that said "your cancellation? oh well that's easy its the first 6 numbers of your order plus today's date. I never did get an actual written confirmation and was told it may take days to reverse the charge. I listed these events with Price Grabber and they have not yet posted my review. This company only has 3 total reviews listed and two are from the same area code as the business is listed, northern Va. I hope this saves someone from a real problem. I filed a formal fraud complaint with by bank.
