Circuit City to close over 150 stores
Store closings? About time!! I'll cut to the chase - I've had more 'less-than-enthusiastic' experiences than happy ones with Circuit City so I am glad the sun is setting on some of these stores. I was so motivated by the news that I emailed the company interim president and asked him to close the store in my town.
Now, if they REALLY want to get back into the game they need to do the following: 1) Stop robbing people with hefty restocking fees 2) Beat (or at least match) online competitors' prices without making clients jump through hoops 3) Hire people that actual know what they are talking about when trying to sell the products - I can recall several times waiting for a salesman to leave a buyer just to go over to him and tell him that the salesman had no clue what he was talking about.
What are your sentiments on these closings? Happy? Sad? Relieved?

I could care less. I quit going into their stores years ago. Either they didn't have what I needed or were much more expensive then everyone else in town.

Circuit City or Best Buy, I can honestly say that I have not set foot in either of their stores in 15 years. Maybe even 20 years.

I grace the local Circuit City store with my presence usually a couple or so times a year, especially for loss leaders or outlet items. Scored a $300+ item I have been wanting for around $150 on closeout awhile back.

I use to work for them years back and the training we as employees went through was intense. Then all the top sales people got fired (they were "over paid") and CC started to hire high school kids...
So.. anyway, do anyone have a listing of these stores closing? They might still have some nice items on clearance. |

Look at the clown who ran the company...
