Newegg has gone downhill
I had placed a order at my friends suggestion who was building my computer, from Newegg, who I have heard and read alot of great reviews about them.
That was not my experience.I placed a order and because of a wrong digit in my cc#, I cancelled the order, before it was at stage 3.then I proceeded to order my computer components again totaling $678.
When I looked into my checking account I was double charged (including the cancelled order) that cleaned out my checking account and was charged $210.for insufficient funds.Nice!
I called Newegg customer service(notice they don't include their toll free # anymore?I had my friend find it in his past order's)
I had some Hispanic lady, who seemed as though English was her second language, tell me that my bank account would be credited in about 3 to 5 working days.Wow!
I said that I wanted to speak to the customer service manager, which she seemed to go through the motions, but I could hear her conversing in Spanish to one of her associates. took about 5 minutes, then returned and said "the manager was unavailable" also the demeanor of this customer service person was not at all helpfull,or friendly.
I looked at the eggxpert forum pictures of the Newegg staff members. Are these people affiliated with some kind of street gang? Sure seems so.
In any case I will never order from them again. |

It was really bad enough to never order from them again. Did you ever get credited for the double order?

How did they charge your card if you gave them the wrong number?

Yes Prince Lalijama, eventually I was recredited from my Bank after much explaining to the CSR Thank God.Newegg did'nt even offer an apology.
My friend who ordered the parts for me,was extremely angry, and upset saying that it seems as though Newegg has gone through some drastic change in the way they do business now (look on their eggxpert forums)
seems as though they have a lot of used merchandise, damaged goods(NJ facility?) being sent to their customer's unbelievable!
uethello, precisely I would like to know that as well ,and asked Newegg's CSR lady that very same question, heh.she just stated that "it was not their problem",and that it was my Banks fault, she did not acknowledge any responsibility on Newegg's behalf.
Pretty ridiculous is'nt it?Outrageous to say the least. |

I agree, sounds quite bad. I'll go browse the forums on there and see if I can tell what you mean.

How did you even know you got a digit wrong in the CC number? After it's entered and the order is submitted, I don't think you can even view it again. Quote: |

That is diffidently something you have to take up with your bank.

If you used a CC then any charges would have been for going over the credit limit. It sounds to me more like you used a debit card. Since a debit card is usually linked to a checking account that would lead to NSF charges. But, even those are usally only around $30-40. In fact, in your review you state both were used, Quote: |

Well, turns out they double charged my debit card and cleaned out my checking account. |

MJwise2 ;First off truly apologizefor any racist type comment I made,Just extremely angry at the time, while I realise that is no excuse, please understand that steady work for me and many other's has been very difficult to come by and hard not to harbor some ill will, especially with many friends of mine losing jobs, homes, etc. (working class).
nomaxim,Tony J15, my friend placed the order, but I submitted the" debit card" # while my friend (roomate) left the room,in my excitement of getting a custom built computer I mistakenly entered wrong digit.
This whole experience has been very unpleasant and unneccessary,
while I appreciate Neweggs correspondence. Thanks Dianne,I may call, but I really am not interested in taking a chance in something weird happening again(can't afford it and really should not have bought what I did) I really would like to put this behind me and just move on.Thanks again and apologize if I offended our Hispanic friends, because of my tirade.
