Has anybody ever sued a laptop maufacturer?
I got taken for $4200.00, and then threatened for posting a bad review on this site, then after the company promised( bribed) me saying they'd fix my notebook and throw in all kinds of free upgrades they didn't do anything but send the police to my mothers house to tell her I threatened an employee.
Yea, you read right.
This is going on RIGHT NOW.....
Anybody that can offer ANY help what-so-ever, for God sakes say so.
Thanks. smithy_t@yahoo.com |

Thanks. smithy_t@yahoo.com | Many of us hear at RR, have been threaten with legal action, however, all of them were empty one..
Thou shall not bear on false witness..Something similar happen to me. I would document everything and contact an attorney and seek legal advice..The first hour will be free and after that your legal fee will be hourly or possibly a contingency (33% or more).
GL and report back to us.. |

This guy was spamming the NBR forums first. The story is highly suspicious, for reasons pointed out by various NBR members. And then there's the fact that after apparently repeated phone calls and what this guy is basically alleging is verbal abuse by the company, he still gives the company his money anyway. Thread on NBR (now closed)

Don't forget these,
(He's been posting these for almost 2 months now.) epinions.com, 26APR. ripoffreport.com, 2MAY. reviews.cnet.com, 4MAY. complaintsboard.com, 16MAY. pcworld.com, 19JUN. notebookreview.com, 19JUN, linked above by 'saturnotaku'. gamespot.com, 23 JUN.
Note the cnet and ripoffreport reviews in which he states, Quote: |

Almost every review on ResellerRating for AVA Direct is positively glowing, and my 1 negative review gets pulled for "review" and then disappears, even though it's supposed to appear 48 hrs later, meanwhile 12 glowing reviews pop up that were written long after mine.
Well, it's been over a week, no review... | Here's his review here at RR dated 4/19/08, AVA Direct Customer Ratings, Reviews and Prices at ResellerRatings.
There are a few oddities. For example, from the ripoffreport link, Quote:
I payed $4200.00(more than my last 3 cars cost!)

So, what'd I get for $4200.00 friggin dollars, my life savings.

Sorry,I know every builder has had problem systems, but this sounds too over the top.The whole thing feels like a smear campaign by someone with a grudge, perhaps not just against AVA but RR as well, since they seem to be suggesting some sort of collusion between the two, which is pure nonsense.

I'm taking it that his review was flagged by AVA. (I believe they have a Premium account here.) The review was posted so it must have been found to be valid.
However, I also found that smithyt has been double posting comments at cnet under another username.
As smithyt on 4MAY2008, reviews.cnet.com.
As smithytee on 18JUN2008, reviews.cnet.com.

Misha from AVA Direct is up to his tricks again.
If this man spent as much time honoring his company's warranty's and keeping an eye on quality control as he does scanning the internet looking for poor reviews on his company and slandering customers they've riped off, they'd be the next Dell.
Misha's gone on a mission to cover the ENTIRE internet and perform damage control on each and every post I've put up.
Why didn't he put that much energy into just fixing my laptop ???
I sincerely believe most of the overly wonderful reviews on this site for AVA Direct are fake.
I filed with the Akron BBB and he basically told them to go fly a kite, sending them nothing more than a printout of the silliest non-sense he's been posting all over the net trying to do damage control.
Buyer beware, there is something seriously not right with this company.
Do not make the same mistake I did, this company is putting me through hell.
