BatteryFuel: Bad data on our store

Hello all,

We just joined ResellerRatings again after having been away for several years. We only have rating on file on file with them. It is time to work on our PR so we decided to take them for a spin again.

We just added their Javascript to our store yesterday. About an hour ago we get a terrible rating via email. As we read through the email we realized that this person is talking about the wrong store. We don't even sell what she was complaining about.

We then visited http://www.resellerratings.com/store/BatteryFuel and found several reviews on us... again for people that were never customers of our and for products we don't even sell.

Merchants: Has this ever happened to you ? Is it easy to clear up?

We've dropped a note to their support.

Update:

Reseller Ratings contacted us immediatly to inform us that there was a glitch with some reveiws (249) that showed up with our company name. They were able to fix this glitch quickly and within 10 minutes all of the wrong reveiews were taken off, except for one.

For some odd reason, we have a review from someone, gleboffe, that is complaining about a video game he purchased from a company and is very disastified. We have no idea how this comment was attatched to our account, but he has bought this video game from someone, but not from us. We don't carry or sell any products he refers to.

Anyone have any idea how to get Reseller Ratings to verify people leaving comments that do not pertain to ones business? We have contacted Reseller Ratings about this guy, we even tried to send him a msg to let him know he left the comment for the wrong customerbut he is blocked and RR has not responded to our inqiury. The comment is only pending, so we have no idea if the pending status must go through x number of hours before it is approved or disapproved, but we are wondering how other merchants have handled false/wrong customer comments and what has Reseller Ratings done to fix these comments left for the wrong merchant or keep people from leaving false ratings. How are these comments verified?

One of the admins will be able to help you, but the matter will need to be investigated first. It could take time, but if it is a review wrongly attached to your business again, I am sure the matter will be sorted out. At the moment, there only seems to be one staff member logged in, so please be understanding. Drop the site administration an email so they don't miss your problem as it scrolls out of view on the forum lists.

paul9,

Thank you for the information. We figured that we should have some recourse to have this investigated. I am not sure if Scott is the administrator, but this is who we have been in email contact with.

We were just curious if a pending status is applied to all rating commments and they must be verified first and if so, how do they verify. Then on the other hand, we're not sure if the pending status has anything to do with the glitch that took place yesturday in their code that accidently linked our account with over 240 other customer comments for different merchants.

Of course we will wait and see, and maybe drop another email off to someone else. We just don't want our customers seeing this first thing when they click on the Reseller Ratings link from our website and see this horrible experience this guy has gone through and really think that's how we conduct our company business. This guy's rating can hurt our sales, and he really isn't a customer of ours. Since he isn't we have no way of contacting him to let him know about the comment. He has his msgs blocked. The only ones that can contact him is RR.

Thanks,
BatteryFuel
