Illegal to post incorrect original prices?!?!
Well, I've always thought it was dishonest, unethical, and immoral to post an "original price" that was over-inflated in order to make the deal seem better, but according to the snippet below it's actually illegal, at least in New York.

Good old John Q Consumer....

MANY years ago I managed a mens shoe store...Course, we also sold socks.

We could take 3 pair of socks at $.99 each - wrap em together with adding machine tape and write on the tape - SALE 3 for $2.97 and we'd sell a ton more...Go Figure.
