Rocky Boots...rock your money away..
I was wearing these expensive boots the other day when they just did not feel right..I got into the car and notice rubber thingiees all over the floor and took a look at the soul of the boot...
I paid $140.oo for these boots in part because they were made in the USA..The sad thing about this, is that I only used them maybe thirty times..
I did call the company and was able to speak with the president's secretary..I was under the impression they had a lifetime warranty, however, they did not but much to their credit, they did offer to send out a new pair free of charge, which I declined.
I believe they used a new type of rubber soul, which was design to be more comfortable on the feet..It was a very bad idea and I have no doubt that Rocky Boots never even field tested them.. You can see each of the heals and the subsequent holes, large enough to hold a quarter and more change if needed. I front of the sole also had lateral tears going from one side of the shoe to the other..
Considering that I paid as much as $5.oo each time I wore them, I will no longer be purchasing products from Rocky Shoe Company. |

Why did you refuse the new pair? You might have just gotten a defective pair. It is to the company's credit that they made you the offer, imo.

Lara, excellent customer service, bad product.... |

I have owned a couple pair of Rocky boots and am glad I didn't experience the problems you have. All of the ones I have owned performed to expectations. I would have at least tried the second pair of boots.

It's very possible that the rubber may have dry rotted from lack of use. As Lara stated, it could have been a defective batch of rubber. Even if they were trying out a new type of rubber, you could probably safely assume that they have made further advances in the 6 years since you purchased those boots.
