To be fair, MacMall's return policy isn't unusual. Apple requires defective units be repaired, not exchanged.
The problem with MacMall is that the company operates unethically, selling a used product as new, not honoring rebates, and so on. The Better Business Bureau's records show out of 299 complaints, 121 were resolved by MacMall "agreeing to perform according to their contract." That means over 40% of the complaints were because MacMall would not follow its own policies voluntarily; customers had to file complaints before the company would honor its obligations. It's no surprise the company has such a low rating on this site.
