Does your spouse agree with that statement?

To be fair, MacMall's return policy isn't unusual. Apple requires defective units be repaired, not exchanged.

The problem with MacMall is that the company operates unethically, selling a used product as new, not honoring rebates, and so on. The Better Business Bureau's records show out of 299 complaints, 121 were resolved by MacMall "agreeing to perform according to their contract." That means over 40% of the complaints were because MacMall would not follow its own policies voluntarily; customers had to file complaints before the company would honor its obligations. It's no surprise the company has such a low rating on this site.

I should have been more informative in my post. My decision not to purchase again form Macmall wasn't entirely based on return policy. I have shopped with them before 2+ yrs. ago, multiple times, with no problems whatsoever. I probably would have again without checking their rating if not for the post of casslass. I have been reminded again you have to always do your homework, a problem for me as far back as grade school.

It depends what you think being a scammer requires. MacMall does do legitimate business, as XMRGWX's experience indicates. In that sense, no, they're not scammers. But then they also do some really questionable things like what they are doing with casslass. At the very least, the company is guilty of very poor customer service; however, given how common stories like the OP's appear to be, one can't help but suspect MacMall does these things knowingly and intentionally. In that sense, they do appear to be scammers.
