Can anyone help me?
I sent $2,500 to Cutting edge appliances and they took the money without delivering the goods. I found out they are out of business. They keep taking money from people but never deliver the product.
The company is Cutting edge appliance aka Ajax Phila. incorporated. at 555 Lancaster ave. Berwyn, Pa 19312 tel: 610-889-9480 610-521-3030 both telephone and website administratively stopped.
Anyone here can help me what I need to do?
I'm out of state and needed some help.
Thanks people

Thanks people | I would contact the Penn authorities, starting with the city attorney's office and then move up..If they went bankrupt you will be SOL...All they can do is place you on the creditors list, way on the bottom... ...GL and report back to us..

It ironic that I saved this money and taken away by bad people. I don't know if I ever save this money again, I lost my job in outsourcing.
Do you have any idea how I can find the cutting edge appliances creditors?
You said, I should contact the attorney general in that city?
Thanks again

CheChe,
Contact your credit card company and have them initiate a charge-back.
Other consumer resources are listed here: Where to file consumer complaints (Consumer Resources: Where to file consumer complaints).
frostbite, I believe city attorneys do not represent private individuals - they represent their city and its elected officials, i.e., claims against the city, its police, housing/building code violations, etc. CheChe should contact the Attorney General of the state in which the business was operating, per nomaxim's link.

Thanks again | Che, Che, the city attorney's office where the business was operating..I am sorry you did not take delivery of your order, however, the internet should, at all times, be approached with due caution.. |

As far as I know, I ordered through:
Cutting edge appliances www.cuttingedgeappliances.com
800-221-7300
400 Chester Pike
Ridley Park, Pa. 19078
Then , I found another Cutting edge appliances address at:
555 Lancaster Ave.
Berwyn, Pa. 19312
Tel: 610-889-9480
Changed to: 610-521-3030
Both Address I mentioned above - Telephone & Websites are disconnected
I think they are the same company but I could be mistaken.
I just don't know what to do. $2,500 is a lot of money to lose.

The WhoIs info for the website you gave is, Quote:

| Also the BBB report for them shows; Quote:

Original Business Start Date August 1949
Business Started Locally August 1949 BBB File Opened April 18, 1997
Complaint Contact Ms. Rainey DiGiacomo (Complaint Contact)
Other Contacts Mr. Alvan Weiss (President)
BBB Member This company is not a member Type of Business Product Sales - General
Based on BBB files, this company has an unsatisfactory record with the Bureau due to unanswered complaint(s).
| I found a report at Ripoff Report about's Nick's stated they went bankrupt dated OCT2003. Per the BBB they are still in business and ; Quote:
Original Business
Start Date unknown BBB File Opened August 05, 1994
Principal Contact unknown
Complaint Contact unknown
Other Contacts no Contacts (persons) registered
BBB Member This company is not a member Type of Business
Appliances-Major-Parts & Supplies
Electronic Equipment & Suppliers-Service/Repair
The company has been responsive to any complaints brought to its attention by the Bureau.
| In fact Nick's has only had 2 complaints filed with the BBB in the last 3 years. Ajax Philla has had 25 complaints filed with the BBB in the same 3 year period. Also note the difference in the 'BBB File Opened' dates and 'Type of Business'. As far as I can tell Nick's does not have a website. Per MapQuest.com the 2 address's are about 20 miles apart.

nOMAXIM.....Your informations are like a Xmas gifts for me. I really appreciate the contents and your help.
I wonder if I can file a small claim againts Mr. Alvan Weiss (President).
I will find the circuit court where the business is located, ask for a small claim form, pay the fee and see how far it goes. Quote:
