Crooks
"I highly suggest you do not do business with this company. I ordered a Garmin GPS with them yesterday and today I received an email for me to confirm my order with William. I have been down this road before where you call and then they try to switch you or sell accessories. Instead of calling I emailed them back saying everything looked good with respect to the order. within minutes William called and told me I really needed an sd memory card for the gps that without an sd card I wouldn't be able to store locations. I then told William that his info was wrong because I had one (the new one is for my daughter) and all my locations plus another 1000 poi's were stored without the extra memory. This guy was willing to lie to me to sell me an accessory I didn't need. This afternoon I checked the status of my order and it is no longer there. Beware folks that if you do not buy accessories with these crooks they will make sure you do not get the deal advertised. Buyer Beware"

TECHONdigital.com sold an item, then told me 6 week lead time after I declined the
I think they are dishonest. I bought a GPS and when I declined the VERY HARD SELL for the SD card, which they lied and said it would not work without it, and declined the extended service agreement, (another hard sell) then my overnight order ship date was SIX WEEKS.... I think they are rude, liars and would never do business with the. I bought the same GPS via Abe of Maine, got it nextday, even though I ordered late in the day.
TECHONdigital.com BEWARE.......
I think they may only want to actually ship orders they can up-sell high margin crap on. And they are RUDE.

Techon Digital.com - would not deal with them
I ordered a Garmin Nuvi GPS, the priced seemed too good to be true, but hell I though maybe they get volume discounts from Garmin. Well well, couple of days later received email that they are out of stock. Called their customer service (seems like same guy answers all lines) and asked if any other Garmin in 600 or 700 series is in stock, the guy said none are in stock call us in 6 weeks and hung up.
I am not sure why they advertise on their website all these products for great prices if nothing is available, unless they are collecting peoples credit cards and plan to make an escape. Could happen.
My suggest is not to order with them, stay away as far as possible.

Techon Digital BBB Report
Can't believe I fell for this, I know better. Unbelievably great price ($255 for Garmin nüvi 660) and 100% positive reviews. Looks like EveryPrice.com is part of the scam. Anyway, after ordering got an email instructing me to call to confirm the order. Did this and some rude @sshole ("James") tried to sell me an over-priced SD card and extended warranty. I ended up telling him what to do with his SD card and warranty. Wasn't too long after that I got an email informing me, regretfully, that the order was cancelled due to a 6-8 week backorder. Right.
Here's a link to the NY BBB report on Techon Digital (a.k.a. Starlight Camera) ... BetterBusinessBureau

TECHONDIGITAL.COM IS 1000% CONFIRMED SCAMMERS!!!!!!
They will sell to you a product at a decent price online and then send you the HOOK --- you must call us to "confirm" your order.
LINE --- A high pressure New York cab driver/salesman will answer your call with "You will enjoy this item...it is great"....would you like the "fill in the blank HERE" People...THIS IS THE UPSELL!!!!!
SINKER --- If you do NOT commit to buy their WAY OVERPRICED "add-on". You will get. "fine, enjoy your item". Low and behold, you WILL receive another email in a day or two. "Sorry your item is out of stock".
Guess what, you call back as a new customer...asking for same product ask if it is in stock...you will get the high pressure up sell immediately.
THEY MUST BE STOPPED AND PUNISHED!!! I am certain that they have made money on tons of unsuspecting people. I am now furious because they STILL have my credit card info, name, address, phone, email...EVERYTHING! I will be watching them closely.
STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM TECHONDIGITAL.COM AS POSSIBLE!!!![/size]

TOTAL SCAM
STAY FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE.
I ordered a Sony T-300 camera today. Great price, so I call to confirm as the confirmation email states. Like stated several times in the thready they hardcore upsell you. Once I decline to buy a $40 battery for $99 and a 2 GB memoery stock for $99 they tell me the camera is the "grey market" Japanese version and comes without warranty.
I of course cancel and start looking for reviews. I just wish I would have done that before I gave them my info.
STAY AWAY NO MATTER HOW GOOD THE DEAL APPEARS TO BE!!!! |

They are a scam
I ordered a GPS from TechonDigital at a good price om 6-22-08. They called and left me a message to contact william to confirm my order. I called him and he tried to sell me an SD card that he claimed I had to have. I denied to buy it and he told me my GPS was on back order for 4-5 weeks. I agreed to wait and called back to confirm my order from someone else, I was told it was backordered for 2-3 weeks. I then called William back and he told me it would be 8 weeks and not 1 day sooner. I tried to tell him what he said in the previous call and He kept yelling over me saying it will not get shipped for 8 weeks and not one day sooner. He kept repeating this with an attitude. I told him I wanted to cancel my order and he said it was not a problem, I was online at the time of our conversation and received the cancellation by e-mail before I had my phone out my hand. This was allready prepared in advance to send to me. If you don't want the over priced junk they try to sell do not order anything from them. They are nothing but a scam artist. I will never consider doing buisness with them again. I ordered my GPS elsewhere.

TechonDIGITAL
Stay away from these guys!
Here is my experience. I was shopping for a GPS unit. They came up with the lowest price, way below "the market". I placed my order and recieved an "order confirmation" email telling me that I had to call them "to confirm my order" before it would be shipped. When I called they told me that I "needed" a memory stick in order for my GPS unit to work. (I know that it is an option but not required.) Their prices for memory is WAY ABOVE market. They will sell you a 1gb, $10 card for $90. I said no thanks, just send me my order.
A few hours later they sent me an email telling me that my order had been cancelled because the unit was on backorder.
Stay far away from these guys!

TechonDigital ....scam?
I have to agree with all that has been said already. Unfortunately, I found out too late and they have all my info. I have contacted the New York State Attorney General’s Office and would advise all of you to do the same. The more complaints they have the better paper trail to follow. The Office already has many complaints under different names. That number is 212 416 8433. Good Luck to all.

Where Were You Guys Yesterday?
Hi guys. Unfortunately for me this string of posts didn't appear when I Googled TechonDigital. If it had, I wouldn't have "purchased" a camera. Anyway, EVERYTHING that has been described in these previous posts has happened to me. I logged into my email to find my email from "James" this morning that my camera is on backorder 6 - 8 weeks which was my initial red flag. But, I hope I caught it early enough because they haven't charged my card yet (I only purchased yesterday) and I've canceled my credit card.
One thing I was looking for but never found in your posts is some followup. What ultimately happened? Did you get your camera/gps/camcorder? Did anyone else cancel their credit cards? Has anybody's bank accounts/credit reports felt any repercussions from their relationship with TechonDigital?
I appreciate your invaluable information on this website.
