Welcome to RR.
There is already a rather large thread on this company at http://www.resellerratings.com/forum...gs-w-them.html (www.techondigital.com (TheDigitalNerds) - Anyone have any dealings w/ them?), 10 pages at the moment. MODS
Can we get a merge of this thread with the other one, please.
Thanks.

All of these things were way over priced (hence their low price on the camera)!
I finally got past their high pressure sales and let them know I only wanted the camera. They said fine and they would get it out.
The next day I received an email that said "Due to the product you ordered being out of stock for 6-8 weeks from today's date. We regret to inform you that the order is canceled due to the product being on backorder. when or if we get the product again in stock soon will send you an email to place an order please do not resubmit your order again . sorry again and thanks for your understanding ."
Their web site said it was "available" so I called. This time I said I would take the 1G sd memory card for $179.00 (it was $120.00 when I confirmed the order) and they told me that both were in stock. When I told him about the email I received, he said it was only available as a package deal but that isn't what the web site said.
In short, this is a SCAM!!! They have things but will only sell them to you if you buy the OVER PRICED extras!
DM | i JUST WENT THROUGH THE SAME THING - I FINALLY TOLD THEM TO CANCEL MY ORDER! Now I am finding I am not the only one who thinks they are scam artist!

In the meantime they have your credit card information. I did this this week and after reading about their practices I cancelled my credit card to prevent any illegal activity. Would you really trust a web site that requires you to call them to verify an order????

We Will Always Strive To Make Things Better For You
It should be known that Foto Connection IS a very well known and YES reputable online merchant. Not only that, but we are a brick and mortar retail store in Brooklyn where we have given to our community for years. We try our best to serve every customer with the personal experience they each deserve. There are posts online that do not depict us well. Perhaps what should be kept in mind is the low rate at which our satisfied customers feel they have to go back and share their experiences. We promote and encourage testimonials and reviews but it seems that when expectations are met many feel the process is complete and end it there. Which, too, is fine with us.
At the end just know, we will always try our best to make things better for you. John@Fotoconnection.com

Technodigital Experience
I am in the middle of a transaction with these scumbags and trying to figure out a way out. I purchased a Canon Powershot SX10 IS and got the same experience as everyone else -- call to confirm the order and get upsold a bunch of other stuff at inflated prices. Well, I didn't have the good sense to say F-you and move on.
Everytime I called to cancel they tried to make the deal even sweeter and then said they had already shipped the camera. A few hours later I called and asked for a UPS tracking number. After being on hold for a few minutes they gave me one and it appears from the UPS website that something is in fact being shipped. I am suppose to be getting the camera, a 2-gig memory card, a carrying case, a tripod and extended warranty for $480. But from the many reviews I have read (unfortunately after purchase) I am skeptical, to say the least.
Another curious thing -- I had a pending charge on my credit card for $480 but I noticed tonight it was no longer there. Can't wait to see what's coming tomorrow (Monday). I canceled my card to be on the safe side for any future shenanigans. But I am still wondering what I am going to get. Has anyone actually received a shipment from these low-lifes?
In all the years I have been buying things on line this is the first time I feel I am getting the shaft and I can't believe I let it happen.

Yes I received 2 used cameras, one broken and was charged $100.00 extra on the bill!
You are not alone my friend. I knew I should have just bought the camera on newegg and paid $10.00 more. Instead I paid over $100.00 more and ended up with one useless camera and one used camera.

More Techno BS
Thanks, No Tact. Now I know I will refuse the shipment and try to get my credit card company to remove the charge. Techno whoever hasn't charged my card yet but when they do I will challenge it. There seems to be reams of evidence that this company is a sham and a scam and I can't imagine not winning this one as long as they get their garbage back. But what a pain in the ass.
I have told family and friends over the years to beware buying on line. If it's too good to be true, it is. Somehow I let my guard down and it's shameful, and these ripoffs are shameless.
I have noticed posts dating back at least a year ago about these clowns (after purchase I'm afraid) and people then made consumer complaints. A year later these f***ers are still at it. How is that?

Update
I ended up accepting the shipment from Techondigital, which was actually The Camera Wiz, Inc on the package. My card was already charged so I figured I might as well.
As it turned out, I got the camera and all of the stuff they ended up throwing in because I complained about their ridiculous prices on everything but the camera, and they do try to sell you EVERYTHING.
The Canon Powershot SX10 IS, 2GB SD card, camera bag, 5-year extended warranty (not sure this is worth the paper it's written on), tri-pod (it's the tiniest, cutest tripod you ever saw, probably worth about 2 bucks), a cleaning kit and some little protectors for the LCD screen, all for $470. Not a great deal but in the ball park for what this camera costs right now.
All of this being said I would never again do business with techondigital or it's various AKA's and would strongly recommend no one else does either. Worst web buying experience I have had in many years of buying on line.

Techondigital scam
Yep, this is the same scam they ran on me. They offer a product at a low price, you order it, then you get an email saying you have to call to "confirm" your order. This is the tip off! When you call, they try to pressure you to buy high priced memory cards, service contracts, or other accessories you don't want or need. When you refuse, they give you an abrupt "good by and enjoy your product," and then you never hear from them again. When you call to check on your order, they tell you it is back ordered, despite the fact that it is still being advertised for sale on their site and listed as being "in stock."
The only way to deal with these scam artists (now there's a term used loosely) is to contact the sites that they link to, such as Google, Amazon, Everyprice, Pricescan, etc., and tell them what's happening so they can remove these clowns from their site. Unfortunately, they will just come back under another name, and as long as they can con a few unsuspecting buyers, they're going to stay around. It takes rating sites like this to help educate buyers to these scams! Caveat emptor!
