Beware of Alibaba Merchants

I don't understand why Alibaba fails to properly regulate the merchants that purport to sell products on its site. The site is filled with scammers like you wouldn't believe.

I was searching for sellers of Garmin and TomTom GPS Navigation units and discovered that nearly 100% of all merchants that sold those items on Alibaba were frauds. Beware! If the seller writes back using terrible English or if he is from Indonesia...be very careful - it is likely a scam. Don't be greedy and succumb to the lucrative prices they offer. They will disappear with your money.

This is a very poignant thread..You are a very wise consumer and due to your cranial mass you avoided becoming a victim...

I have gone on their website and placed a large order as a retailer three different times with three Chinese's companies and never received a response from them to my inquiries...

I ax them a number of questions regarding their operations and references and never received any email replies..That alone would not categorizes them as scammers but it certainly raises my suspicion when they do not even bother to reply to an email...It does tell me that you are likely to receive bad service, if not more...

Also of concern, is that this company has issued, in the HK stock market, an IPO to go public which may give them more creditability than they deserve...

When using their website, one must use a great deal of caution in order not to encounter problems...
