If you have problems with Comcast signal, good luck ever getting it fixed. Been trying for 2 years to get all my HD channels and they come out and do a song & dance and the leave and nothing ever gets done about it. I have bad reception on some of the other HD channels... it comes and goes. I would have less problem with a Dish.

Dirt balls

Mrs Frostbitetwice, was calling the billing department and was hung-up twice!!!! I am telling her to stop-out of this company...

Even Concast can not be as bad as this!!!

Update: Effective February the 14th we shall no longer be victims of DirctlessTv...

They are just like Sprint, all is fine until you have to speak with their customer disservice..

GOODBYE and GOOD RIDDANCE.

I''ve been very lucky with DirecTv. Some type of satellite is my only option for decent television where I live. I have been with them for 12+ years with no major problems. One thing I liked was being able to just go buy the equipment and then do my own install. I've seen some cable installs with cables being run across windows and other atrocities and didn't want any part of that nonsense. The only time I've touched my dish over the years, was to upgrade to a dual feed to add more receivers.

On the equipment side, only an occasional reset has been necessary (unplug receiver for 20 sec.), due to power fluctuations.

On the customer service side, for questions & programing changes everything has been smooth sailing.

If I had to make a complaint, it would be that damn HugesNet commercial they play 20 times a day. Every time I see that ad my blood pressure goes up - enough is enough already, can that ad. PLEASE!

frostbitetwice:

Sorry that you are having/had so many problems with DirecTV. One thing you can do is when you call their customer service, keep saying "Cancel" at voice prompts until you get the retention department. The CSR's there are usually the most competent and able to do the most to help you out.

One site that I frequent that is extremely helpful in providing advice and insight is DBSTalk.com. Check it out. Their forums for DISH and DirecTV are very extensive and helpful.

rmims404 is infamous around these parts
Just a word from a Dish Network subscriber since 2002. Nothing but the best service from Dish. Superb picture & sound, especially HD. No complaints. I had cable for several years and the picture quality got so bad I dropped them (Charter). My cable service really sucked. I would not go back to cable, unless the satellites fell out of the sky.
