Buying an HD set online--leap of faith?

I'm going to be buying a new HD set (46" LCD) for Christmas this year, and like the prices and rep that Plasma Concepts seems to have. However, regardless of where I decide to buy it, I have this nagging feeling that by buying online, I'm doing the wrong thing. My major concern is what I would do if something went wrong with my set a few months down the road. If you've bought a set online, how are you dealing with this? Did you just take a huge leap of faith and convince yourself that nothing will go wrong? Where would you take (or send) your set for service, should something happen?

Any feedback would be really appreciated--I'm still very skeptical about buying something like this online.

UPDATE: The in-store price (cost of the set plus sales tax) is exactly three hundred dollars more than the online price (cost of the set plus shipping). Is three hundred dollars enough to make the online purchase worth it?

Sometimes saving a 100 bucks on-line on a major purchase isn't worth it....

But, odds are if your New Sony broke, you'd deal directly with them and or one of their local authorized repair shops.
