Problems with Newegg
I have previously been happy with Newegg, but my last two experiences have soured me. On 9/29 I ordered an Iriver ACC FM radio. The picture on the web site showed a retail-packaged item, but the unit I got was loose in a plastic bag. I saw on the Newegg site that another customer had the same issue, but since it worked fine I didn't complain. This past Saturday, 10/13, I ordered a Samsung multifunction laser printer model CLX-2160N. The unit was $419 minus a discount of $50 plus a $100 rebate from Samsung if ordered before 10/14. I later got an e-mail from Newegg stating that the unit was out of stock and my order was cancelled. I checked on Sunday and the unit was still listed as in stock. On Monday the unit was in stock, but without the discount or the rebate. Today, Friday, the unit is still in stock, but with a $50 rebate and no discount. I would like to know why Newegg told me that the printer was not available when they continue to sell
it at a higher price. PS: I tried to post my dissastisfaction in the ratings without success.

| Victor, I think this was nothing more than human error..Egger ships over 30,000 items per day and with such volume mistakes are going to occur.. .. |

NewEgg shipping problems, errors or scams
I too have ordered many items from NewEgg over the years, however my experience with them in October, 2007 was the worst purchasing experience I've ever had on the internet. On October 13th I ordered a new (factory sealed with one year warranty) Nikon D80 camera body, and they shipped me a refurbished reconditioned body with 90 day warranty. Of course I sent it back for a refund. They claimed this to be a rare error and convinced me to reorder. I reordered on October 17th (prior to receiving refund on first order) and they again shipped a refurbished reconditioned camera body. This time Customer Service advised that I not order from them again because they must have a serious problem at their New Jersey warehouse. The price on both camera bodies was $899 and with shipping totaled over $1800 tied up for half a month on my credit card before receiving the two refunds. At this point I felt that some sort of scam was occuring by employees at the warehouse. I wrote a three page letter to NewEgg.com detailing my concerns, however I've only received two weak responses in canned emails offering $25 off my next two purchases, however I'm afraid to purchase from NewEgg.com again. I've not received a response to my letter or my request to have a Customer Service Supervisor call me. I advise that everyone to heed this warning to avoid going through the frustration I experienced. Two errors on the same customer ordering the same product is beyond belief!

Talk about NewEgg making shipping mistakes, I saw this article about a huge blunder that actually benefited the customer. It seems they mistakenly shipped 5 Asus Eee Pc's for the price of one! Lucky customers they are! Link here: http://www.engadget.com/2007/11/05/n...-price-of-one/ |

Might want to send a PM to the member here called Newegg_Support. They've been known to help out...

| King, as excellent of company that egger is, it is not beyond making errors..However, for you to title your post as maybe a scam is unfair and not support by any evidence.. |

The fact the customer service inform Mr King that they are having problems and advising him not to order from them does not pass the smell test regarding scams...
Furthermore, as much as I support egger, I would never order camera equipment from them..There are high rated companies who specialize in such products and have greater knowledge and skills than egger will.. |
