ves1000 is infamous around these parts
Very low prices but could care less about the customer. I ordered a jacket and chaps from them, i received the jacket but was way too small. I used the size chart on their website and the jacket wasn't even close to fitting. Two weeks after the order, i called to check the status of the chaps and found out that they were on back order. I explained that I was never notified of the back order and changed my chaps to another pair that were supposedly in stock, i asked them to ship overnight for me because i needed them that weekend and they said they couldn't do it and that I had to speak to a manager. The manager didn't answer the phone, i left a message and never received a return call. The following week I called to check the status and they said they still didn't ship. Called back a few days later and found out they canceled my order and refunded my money, this cancelation was a few days prior to my last call, which they didn't notify me at that time. I'm going on a long ride next week and need a pair of chaps for this. I'm cheap, i love finding deals, but will never buy from them again. FYI, they claim shipping is free on their website for exchanges, read the fine print, you have to pay to return the items.

jafrum fake dot helmets

In addition to selling allegedly bogus helmets, Jafrum is incompetent and ignorant. Their pulldown menu for shipping address continues to put in GE as an abbreviation for California. I've called and complained to them TWICE about this. Their answer is: "Gee, we've never had that problem before." I ask if they'll take my order over the phone the way every other vendor in the world does. "Sorry, no." Any other way to solve this problem? "No." After reading your post, I guess I'm lucky their site is so terminally screwed up.

The D rings are NOT a requirement of the DOT certification, sorry. The requirement is for a retention system that meets certain standards. Most companies use the D rings system because it's cheap, and proven. AGV and Nolan both have helmets that use that same quick release system, which is metal, not plastic, in addition to another company that makes quick release buckles that can be added into a D-ring system.

Part of the DOT requirements for a helmet include listing the actual manufacturer of the helmet on the liner tag. You can look that manufacturer up in the various NHTSA helmet testing reports to see if it was ever tested and what the results were.

Jafrum is No good-Buyer beware!

Jafrum provides the worst customer service. They are eager to take your money and make promissed to get your business, but if you have a problem and need to return a product they find any excuse why its not the products fault but the customers and try to get more money out of you. There response time in handling complaints is horrible. They will delay your return by as much as 3 weeks hoping you will forget or go away then make up a story which isnt true and deny your earned warranty on the item. Stay awa this company should be closed down for their horrendous cstomer service!

I have to agree, I have three helmets and a pair of chaps from Jafrum. They are nice as any that I have seen at a dealership, the chaps are nicer than any I have looked at. I would suggest that the OP was sent a novelty helmet by mistake.

The helmets are a safety hazard and hope someone sues them for putting riders at risk. The dealer showed me a real DOT helmet, it was much stronger outer shell, and better padding. DOT helmets don't have quick release, well guess what Jafrum.com does, so a cop can give you a ticket for that. Quick release is only for novelty helmets.

So that's why the Jafrum price is so low on there helmets. Jafrum gives you novelty helmets, beware and buy real DOT from reputable websites.

Do you really think a DOT helmet is gonna save your life?

Idiot!

MC'ing like any other type A activity is risky. Just be glad is says "DOT" on the back so the fuzz won't mess with you!

jafrum helmets

what brand helmets did you order? i have ordered a total of 6 HCI helmets from jafrum over the last 3 years and have received quality products. most all companies sell the same helmet shell they just put in their own padding and stamp their name (even Harley Davidson). Dealerships often put down products if not bought from them. i have also purchased tires, chaps & rain gear from them. all are good products.

Chris, did you get your money back?? I just went through something with Jafrum that was utterly rediculous. I ordered a leather jacket and the zipper was broken, and now, because it's been more than 48 hours since I received it, they won't refund my money. On top of that, even if I could return it, they wanted ME to pay to ship the item back... Luckily my credit card company agreed with me and charged Jafrum and gave me my money back
