Even if your nice on the phone I still think they act nasty and rushed. Granted, I completely agree you cannot find a lower price for a built CPU than from the powers. I guess to do this they skimp in areas like quality control and customer service screening. If you are knowledgeable about building computers than you would be hard pressed to find a better deal.

The main reason I went to another vendor is because of the way they sounded on the phone when I was only PLACING my order. Even then they were rushed, transfered me without saying anything, and just sounded rude. This got me worried that if a problem ever did occur where I needed a replacement part that I would get the run around.

I still drool every time I look at their site though. Those prices make it easy to attract customers, I guess you just have to decide if its worth the cost of cutting corners. From my own experience and the reviews of others, I really think if they hired nicer more experienced sales reps they would do so much more business. Even if their quality control stayed the same and people got a computer with parts not in place-cyberpower would be much better off with having techs and cust. service reps that were nice. It leaves a bad taste in peoples mouths when the reps transfer them with no warning, and the tech support belittles customers.

I have been wanting to have a pc built from cyberpower or ibuypower for some time now but after reading all these reviews I am very weary. I must agree with raull their sites are quite appealing and they offer some very nice cases I have not found offered by offer custom builders. One thing I wonder though what percentage of this damage is actually caused by shipping companies and their poor care. I know one time I had a game console replaced and the UPS man literally chucked the box into my living room like a football after pounding on my front door.

I, from personal experience, would recommend ibuypower if you are patient. Customer service was fine, no rudeness. The only annoying bit was that some of the computer wasn't put together correctly, the 2 hard drives were crammed in crooked, the CD drive wasn't plugged in, and the LCD temp display was loose. All these problems were easy fixes and were worth the small hassle due to the prices. Patience is a virtue.

No thanks,when it comes to something as complicated and expensive as a PC,I'll only trust my money to a builder who's proved themselves reliable.Granted not everyone can afford a system from someone like Falcon or Voodoo,but there are other dependable builders out there with prices that are competitive with the "Powers".

Let's just say you rolled the dice,can't say if they'll come up sevens or snake eyes.The best thing to do now is have have someone knowledgeable about PC's give it a good inspection when it arrives.Any problems,send it back,that's your right under the warranty.

From reading this thread it seems certain precautions could be taken to help avoid getting a lemon.

1. Make it simple to build and not make it complicated for these monkeys to screw it up by using the least the amount of hardware as possible.

2. Buy an oversized case so they don't cram stuff into it and break things and one that is screwless rail design so screws won't get stripped out.

3. Avoid liquid cooling at all costs and add as many additional fans as possible.

One thing I want to ask those that bought from either of these companies is if they include everything the motherboard manufacturer included? As an example the ASUS M2N32-SLI Premium should have come with all this.

* ScreenDUO
* AI Remote
* 2-port USB Hub
* 1-port Firewire Hub
* 6 SATA cables
* 3 SATA Power cables
* Q-Connector
* ASUS Update
* Backplate
* SLI bridge

I bought a computer from Cyberpower pc. So far the service has been pretty awful. Supposedly they have 2 quality control dates after manufacturing but my mother board was defective right out of the box. Nor did they give me all the items that are supposed to be with the motherboard. When i contacted tech service i got transferred at least 4 times. The first person i talked to was downright rude and cut me off at times, the next 2 people were short with me and just seemed to really not care. The 4th person however was extremely helpful and very courteous. When i brought my PC back in for repairs they didnt even have the motherboard in stock so now i have to wait yet another day. So far i would have to give them a 0/5 stars.

I wouldn't buy from them on principle. I sent an e-mail with a few sales-related questions 3 days ago and have yet to receive a response. If the company acts like this before they take your money, I hate to think what it would be like afterward.
