Service that does NOT deserve negative feedback

I'm tired of reading reviews of resellers from very dissatisfied customers who are clearly not knowledgeable about online purchasing, and whose claims are completely unfounded.

A few of my biggest gripes

1) Lost packages. DO NOT give a company a negative review because their shipping carrier lost your package. How is this the fault of the merchant? Unless they listed the incorrect address on the package (unlikely), you have no reason to complain about the merchant. Do not expect to receive a replacement part from the merchant until the carrier's lost package process/inquiry is complete. Why would they send you a replacement without first being notified and reimbursed by the carrier? If they did, you could always cry lost package and get replacements. Use your head.

2) Dead pixels on LCDs. Merchants DO NOT open LCD monitors to test for dead pixels. Merchants typically consider 5-10 dead pixels acceptable and will not accept returns or give refunds for less dead pixels than this. This information should be readily available on thee merchant's website, so you have no right to complain. Manufacturers typically allow several dead pixels through their QA process. So, this is not the fault of the merchant, and they should NOT be blamed if you receive a monitor with dead pixels, and you shouldn't have the right to a refund because the monitor performance is within the manufacturers limits, and is not broken.

3) DOA computers. Many merchants will not accept returns on broken computers or computer parts. This is just how it is. This is not the fault of the merchant. You must deal with the manufacturer directly. Your RMA claim must be filed with the manufacturer. Live with it.

mikeTI is infamous around these parts
Yes..but do not buy from projector.com

I can see that honesty in the. People need to seperate the two from each other.

However, my experience from projector.com was miserable. they tried to do a bait n' switch on me after they told me their warehouse warehouse was on hold and that it didnt ship out for over a week!!

Scum, dont deal with them at all. I'm going to call my credit card to dispute my purchase that I've never received....

Well stated, Nokia. I do not agree with your third statement, however. If I purchase a new item I expect that product to function and not replace broken parts. I purchased a complete package and not a part. It is the retailer's responsible to ensure that what they sell works as advertised.

I agree, the third statement is unacceptable. When you pay for a working computer, that's exactly what you should get.Merchants who don't have an honest RMA policy should be avoided. As far as LCDs go,there are merchants who have a "no dead pixel" guarantee for a small fee.

mikeTI: Please don't "threadcrap" by posting irrelevant replies to a thread. This thread is not about a specific merchant. If you want to talk about your experience with that merchant you can start a new thread about it. -thanks
