2 charges today from "STC SAWA RECHARGE RIYADH SA" for 79.98 each within 2 minutes of each other.

This was done on my Paypal Debit Mastercard.

as the guy at this link http://www.saintkansas.com/2007/07/s...riyadh-sa.html

.. I also used my card at GoDaddy recently.

Called paypal, they cancelled one of the charges, and I will have to dispute the other if it goes through. It's currently in the "Pending" state.

Good Luck to all.

Me too!

Greetings everyone.
My husband and I were also hit with this scam. We hadn't noticed it on our initial Wachovia Check Card statements, but we were hit with two $80 PURCHASE STC SAWA RECHARGE charges in July, followed by two $2.00 international charges. A third $80 charge was attempted yesterday, but luckily Wachovia caught it and blocked it. My husband spoke with Wachovia and his card has been canceled and they are currently investigating this scam. After reading all your posts here, we contacted Wachovia and gave them some of the information from you all here...aparently they didn't know? Or they just play dumb really well.
Anyway, I just wanted to comiserate with you all. If anyone needs to contact me for further information my e-mail is beastiebrat@hotmail.com. I wish you all best of luck with your various situations and I hope everyone recieves some kind of positive resolution.
Thanks!

The SAME exact thing happened to me yesterday. It was charged on my Paypal.com debit card. Two charges for $79.98 back to back. I happened to Google the STC SAWA and found this forum. This problem sounds very widespread but it's interesting that many are on the Paypal.com Debit card. Sounds fishy to me.

I just sent some of the basic info about this situation to my local television news in NY, NY. I also included the link to this forum. It's very frustrating that this has happened to all of us and what's even more frustrating is that this hasn't been brought to the public's attention. How much investigation is really getting done about this? Is there any communication about this between our various respective CC companies about this? I know that our friend here Sheriff is in the process of working on something, and I commend him for that effort. Thanks Sheriff! It's not only a huge inconvenience for many of us, but personally I find it a bit unnerving. What other information do these dirty theives have about us? And how can it be used? I am sure there are hundreds of others out there who have been hit and are totally unaware of the situation.
In the end, it's only $...but like I said, a bit of our own sanity is also at stake here.

The credit card companies I think could case less. Only one of the millions of fraud they have to deal with. I called Paypal.com and the agent didn't seem to care. I told her I was thinking about them and didn't want them to lose the money and they could stop the payment to this merchant while it was "pending". They told me to just fill out a form off their website and send it in. That was it.

Banks these days are horrible with poor customer service and we are just a # not a name or person. I'm afraid it probably will get worse in the future.....Sad.

ME TOO!

Two Charges of $79.98 were charged on Aug 15 within seconds of each other from the same business name as you mention.

I RARELY use my Pay Pal, and I used it recently at eBay and two other online stores.

So, that leaves it pretty narrow for me.

I called Pay Pal, they are having me print out, fill out, sign, and fax a page back to them to deal with the charges.

I wanted to mention that this is a Business Premier PAY PAL Debit card that was charged.

I use Pay Pal online, but the DEBIT card itself, almost NEVER. And it was the card itself...

I am from Springfield, Missouri

FYI. Mine is a Business Premier account as well at Paypal.com

I'd say maybe someone tapped into their database. Seems too much like a coincidence that several people are with Paypal.com and this happened...
