Best of the Best online shopping!

Go for onecall.com or cameraworld.com

Both are very highly rated and NOT in NYC or anywhere near there!

Camera world is in Oregon and OneCall is at 229 N. Ella Rd Spokane, WA 99212

I've purchased many items from both including a 42" Sony Vega Plasma HDTV back in 2002 from OneCall and had absolutely NO problems at all! At that time the plasma retail price was $7500 (!!!!) and I got it from one call delivered to me in Houston for $5900! Strapped to a pallet and all was OK!

September 2006 I got a brand new factory sealed USA model D50 Kit with 18-55mm Lens 6.1 Megapixel Digital SLR w/all Nikon supplied accessories for $650 from OneCall. I'm sure their price has gone down now but then it was a good deal w/free shipping and no tax!

I've purchased lens kits, many accessories as well as Sony underwater housing for my digital camera from CameraWorld. Great shipping, prices and friendly staff that does not pressure you to buy more things!

Both OneCall and CameraWorld are straight shooters and will cut you a deal IF you do want to buy some accessories with your purchase.
Give OneCall or CameraWorld a call!

F**K NYC scammers! I would NEVER buy anything from a NJ or NYC seller period!

NYC/NJ dealers=bad news scammers!

Both are excellent vendors.
I get tired of reading every day about NJ/NYC scammers trying to upsell, ripoff and jip people out of their money!
Unless I was going to buy a generic camcorder or DSLR battery on eBay from one of them that would be about it!

I've personally purchased many items from camera filters to plasma TV's from OneCall and CameraWorld and have never had one problem with them.
You can call the BBB in both their locations and find out for sure for yourself if you like.

I am an eBay seller and I can't stand getting ripped off or lied to when trying to buy something.
This is why I recommend these two places overall tops on my list. Trust me if Sony, Nikon, Cannon or whoever says it comes in the kit you'll get it with these guys. They won't take out the good stuff and put in cheap generic crap like unscrupulous NYC scammers do!

Their prices at first might seem a little high but you can call and get a phone rep and normally they come off the prices some if they can.

Not all NYC stores are crooks. There are a very small number of honest ones, my favorite being B&H, who has a long history of great service, integrity, reliability and low prices. They do not bait and switch, or try to upsell you, and they send exactly what was ordered for the agreed upon price.

I agree with you about OneCall.

Yes, lenjack I agree with you about B&H. They have been around a long time and I've heard good things about them.
It is just a shame so many scammers/crooks up that way make people gun shy from shopping online and especially from a NYC/NJ online dealer.

Lucked out and Chose B&H

To all-- I just bought my first SLR, a Canon Rebel from B&H. I really lucked out. I almost bought from one of the other, slightly lower priced NY vendors. I think it was fotoconnection.Anyway, I then had the idea to search ratings and found terrible things about most of the vendors except B&H, so I chose them.

I ordered Sunday,,,the camera came on Tuesday...granted I live in the state next door. But, a few days later the button that you push to exctract the flash memory card broke and I had to call to switch out cameras and the memory.
They not only answered the phone quickly, but sent me an email with RMA and UPS pickup. All I had to do was repack and use their postage paid printout.

I highly recommend them from my personal experience...not all NY'rs are bad.

How do they get away with it?

On 07-08-08 I placed an order for 2 Sanon SD1000 cameras. $19.38 shipping. I received an email asking me to call 800-457-0889 to confirm my order. A "Sam" then proceeded to attempt to sell me accessories, a longer lasting rechargable battery and battery charger. I told him no thanks. He then said there will be an additional $20.00 per camera for shipping insurance and that this was a good idea. I told him that I did not care for shipping insurance and I would but it elsewhere if that was the case. He said I would be charged this amount anywhere I go. I told him I begged to differ. He then said he would throw in the accessories that he offered to sell me previously (a longer lasting rechargable battery and battery charger) for free to make it up to me. I told him no that I now just wanted to cancel my order. He said okay but there will be a 15% restocking fee since he has processed my order! Do I have to say anymore anout the shady practices that this company has in store for "customer" (victims). I have filed a dispute with my credit card company. If I had done a small amount of research on this company I would have found that this behavior is their normal mode of operation and they are getting away with it daily to the dread of unsuspecting customers all over the USA. Internal terrorists.
