Kogon, with tens of hundreds reviews being post yearly, it is not difficult to have some them of being fraudulent...

This will happen again, but in the meanwhile, one etailer reputation has been destroyed and the RR's staff is even more keenly aware of this problem...

BTW, do you have any solutions?

I will say this until I am blue-in-the-face, it is the negative review that really matter, along with their content...

kodan is infamous around these parts
Honestly not sure there is a solution.... One thing I can deffinately say is once its been proven that a company has falsified ratings then ALL the names that parent company runs under should have a HUGE note on the top of each page of their review that informs potential cutomers of that fact.....
So far as I can tell there is NO consequence to fabricating reviews...

IMHO its pretty much BS that the fradulent review is still up(imho it should be deleted/removed WITH a note in its place that says it was a fradulent review by the company in question).... To even know that they are fabricating reviews you have to come to this thread.

Sure dont look to me like ANYONE on the RR staff cares at this point. With almost no effort on my part I found one fradulent review and two instances of review bribery/coercion thats THREE pretty serious infractions and STILL as near as I can tell nothing has happened... This site is worthless if they allow people to game their system and then dont have some pretty visable consequences when someone does. If you punished the offenders visably and openly then you would maybe make people think twice about gaming the system....

LIke I said though its not about having a decent review site its about getting paid for all the special services. Credability and reliability go out the window when all you care about is the cash you get paid by the people in your programs. Really hard to smack the hand of the guy paying your bills even if hes being a crook.

I have to agree with Frostbite, what really counts is the negative reviews they get,and more importantly, the pattern that becomes clear in those reviews to anyone who does their homework. What seems plain to me is there's a serious lack of support at AVA,and when something does go wrong, they lack the technical know-how to correct it,or else lack the concern for the customer to do what is needed to satisfy them.Perhaps a combination of both.Their warranty doesn't seem to be worth the paper it's written on.I think they underestimate how badly these negative reports can hurt them, especially the rash of complaints over at HardForum, which is very popular with the very kind of people who are potential customers for them, computer enthusiasts who buy high end systems. They've probably lost dozens of sales from the word of mouth there alone.Add the shrinking ratings here, and it adds up.

I know this will be a necro but I thought some of you might want to know what happened to me and my ava system. Many months ago it was scrapped and beat to pieces and some of the good parts salvaged. The final verdict of its demise was discovered. The motherboard had been improperly installed and wrong stand offs used so it was inside the case ungrounded and slightly warped this is what killed it and cost me $2000 minus what I got in parts out of it.

Sorry it went so badly for you, unfortunately you're not alone. Their overall ratings seem good, but they aren't thought of very highly in the PC enthusiasts forums I visit. They've seemed to have fallen off in quality control and support since their early days.

AVA We adore the lengths in which you went in getting your wiki article clean again and free of negative information about all the botched RMAs as well as the fabricated reviews even admitted by Misha at one time were fabricated. We also like that comment about the unfavorable info is because and I quote Fre1675 (Who is CEO of AVADirect Alex Sonis as noted User talk:Fre1675 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

"All information on the references is not true. A customer is abising wikipedia and other websites.Tring to get paid for drugs"

We are not junkies nor do we condone use of illegal substances. We are also not "ill" as you have made the wikipedia believe. We are not getting paid or compensated in any way. We are a group of your former customers that have lost thousands of dollars combined because of purchases of products from your company that have been unresolved.

We are ensuring that no more people are scammed by your company and that information regarding the behavior, unethical business conduct and the horrible way in which your customers are treated is made publicly available so the informed consumer is fully aware of what they are getting into by doing business with your company.

We will also collect, maintain and analyze and actively seek any and all information which can be used against you in a court of law and or be made available for public comment and analysis.

I'm not sure Wikipedia is the best place to air your grievances, such entries seldom remain untouched for long. I can sympathize with your experience, and as a longtime member over at [H]ardforum I know you're not alone, the horror stories of builds gone terribly wrong have made AVA infamous over there. I can't say I'm impressed with their CEO's handling of this dispute, sounds more like Misha's way of handling things. Your best course of action is to stick to verifiable facts in a calm reasonable way, hard as that may be given some of their tactics.
