Can we submit ratings on ResellerRatings.com?

Can we rate ResellerRatings.com? Not sure how reputable and reliable their information really is. Who monitors the site's quality control? For starters, I'm seeing that my last login was: "Welcome, dpascoe. You last visited: 12-31-1969 at 11:00 PM" Right... I know, I know, sites are as reliable as their software, and then there's the human element...

We're currently experiencing an issue of our own with ResellerRatings and have found their customer service to be less than satisfactory. They have been rude, inaccurate and their response time has been less than desirable. Maybe it's just me, but I think when you have a site whose sole responsibility is to educate and inform the public, you should withhold a higher standard. They don't seem to care that the information they post on their site is not correct or current.

I guess it goes without saying, but... be careful before shelling out the big bucks on anything on line. Do your research, talk to people and believe only 1/2 of what you read.

Clearly you (projector.com) only recently stumbled upon our site, so you can be forgiven for not knowing anything about our 12 year history and for jumping to silly conclusions, but you should really get your facts straight before making public accusations.

One of our admins will be pasting the complete email exchange between yourself and our company for others to read, since you opened the door to this by making false accusations against us. It's only right for the public to see the whole story.

There are 1,200 online retailers who actively manage their feedback and ratings/reviews at ResellerRatings. Those stores signed up for a complimentary merchant account with us in order to flag reviews for evaluation under our terms of use (http://www.resellerratings.com/terms.pl), post public rebuttal comments in reply to customer reviews, view invoice numbers to ensure that reviews were written by legitimate customers, and to contact reviewers via our private messaging system.

ResellerRatings is not a free for all where anyone can post anything. All reviews must comply with our terms of use (http://www.resellerratings.com/terms.pl), which, in part, require that reviews were written by actual customers. If a merchant believes that a review violates our terms of use, they can flag it, and we then contact the reviewer and ask them to bring the review into compliance if possible.

Your claim is that you purchased projector.com and want us to remove the grand total of 4 reviews from early 2006, claiming that projector.com is no longer under the same management as before. We have no way of verifying that claim (and in fact, the only information we can find from the State of Washington contradicts your ownership claims), and we have advised you that the best way to handle this situation is to simply start getting reviews to improve your rating, since it's quite easy to offset only 4 reviews that were submitted over a year ago. I assume you do have more than 4 customers?

You said (referring to us), "They have been rude, inaccurate and their response time has been less than desirable.". The public will read your email inquiries to us, and our replies, and they can be the judge of your statement, which is obviously ridiculous, written out of spite simply because we won't remove your company's legitimate negative feedback.

We remove reviews only when a company is bought out by a new entity and no individuals, including owners, partners, executives, managers, employees, shipping department personnel, sub/contractors, etc., from the old company continue to be affiliated with the new company.

Thanks for looking into this. Apparently, the information that the State has is incorrect. Herb originally founded Boxlight in California then moved and registered with the State of Washington 12/4/1996 (I have a copy of the certificate and court documents, if required).

Projector.com was owned by Stephen Schramke from 2004 - 2007. Herb purchased Projector.com and AbsoluteHD and took full ownership February 2007.

I'm not sure where they got this information, but it is not correct.

Ownership alone is not the determining factor; *any* officer, executive, manager, director, staff, employee, etc., - anyone - who was part of the old company that continues or remains with the new company, causes the disqualification of the option of having old company reviews removed.

This "problem" is easy to fix: Projector.com only has 4 customer reviews, which is basically nothing, and the solution is simply to start getting new reviews to drown out the old ones. ResellerRatings has a six-month rating system, which is the main rating we show here (http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Projector). That means that we only look at reviews received within the past 6 months to generate that rating.

Our advice to you is to increase the number of reviews that you have received by:

-Using our exit survey (link or popup) on your final order confirmation screen (scroll down to "Point-of-Sale Exit Survey,
http://www.resellerratings.com/merchant-solutions#tools)
-Emailing existing customers an offer (like a discount on a future order) to provide feedback (you can only request "feedback", not ask for a "good review", and you must honor the offer even if negative feedback is provided.
-Include a link to your ResellerRatings survey page from your order confirmation email.

It sounds like if anyone that worked under the old management STILL works under the new management then reviews can't be removed. It sounds like that is the case with this Dpascoe. That is why they can't remove the reviews. They have some good ideas on how to drown out the old ones. Get people to post new ones.

Some tips for your company Dpascoe:
-Don't screw over your customers.
-Don't try and bribe people to give you a good review using their money. (IOW don't say they will only get their money back if a good review is given)

Generally the reviews for this company are good. However, there are some bad/negative reviews here and there. Most of the negative reviews seem to be about delayed shipping times, items being 'out of stock', or being unable to contact the company.
