TheCameraProfessionals - SCAMMERS-Shady

TheCamera Professionals (800) 496-0227 www.thecameraprofessionals.com

I am ready to buy a Nikon D80 with a lens or two. The best online retail pricing I can find is thecameraprofessionals.com so I call to order. The guy on the other end has the worst phone skills and bad attitude, like I am bothering him and he doesn't care if I buy or not. I can overlook that for good prices. So I tell him the package I want. From their site, Nikon D80 w/Advanced Package. Comes with a Nikon 28-105mm and Nikon 70-300mm lens and some stuff they throw in like tripod and camera bag. Bottom line price $984.00

see: http://www.thecameraprofessionals.co...p?prodid=53758

So I am ready to order and he says, "you want the battery and charger with that, right?"

"You mean an extra battery? Doesn't it come with a battery and charger?"

"No, its $199 for the battery, $299 for the charger"

Told him I need to look into that a little more. He says "fine" and hangs up on me. Needless to say, the Nikon D80 comes with a battery and charger. The Camera Professionals try to get an extra $500 out of you when ordering by springing this little scam on you at the last minute. IN all fairness, if I need to be fair to a scammer, their ad does not list the battery & charger. In fairness to everyone else, they don't say they will open the box and remove these items unless you pay an extra $498.

What a scam!! Avoid these guys. Glad I called them and didn;t simply order online.

David

Bottom line price $984.00 -> what's the average price from other places? Is it closer to $1400.00??

Look at links...further suspicion of scam

Gotta be a scam, but must be a good one. Looks like they have retail packages and camcorder only packages. Then they charge an arm and a leg for accessories.

http://www.resellerratings.com/forum...ss ionals.com (TheCameraProfessionals - SCAMMERS-Shady)

Fake ratings? Looks too perfect. One complaint and it minor just for measure

http://ratingsplanet.com/merchant_ra...FQGPWAodl2zo0Q

Look there is a retail kit AND a camcorder kit. My guess is the camcorder kit is camcorder only, no accessories, and then LOOK at the accessory prices, WOW!

Stay away from these guys...

www.thecameraprofessionals.com/ <--The customer service is simply horrible. I was interested in the SDR-H200 camcorder by Panasonic and the price listed on their site was a great price and listed as in stock. However, when I called the guy tells me its out of stock and simply hangs up before I can say anything.

When I called back to find out about whether it would be restocked anytime soon the same guy answers and was extremely rude. When I asked to speak with a supervisor he told me he was the supervisor and simply laughed when I voiced poor impression of his customer service. At first the insults he issued were in the mocking way he would say things. When I called him on it the insults and mockery on his part became overt. I kept my cool on the phone with him but I am incredulous as to how I was just treated.

My best advice would be to stay away from these guys. If they are that rude on the front-end customer service, I can only imagine how they would treat you once they have your money.

I have the same bad experience with thecameraprofessionals I ordered a canon G9 Digital camera last month, I received a call the next day if I need a 2 hour or 5 hour battery (note. There is only one type battery for this camera) I told them no because I don’t want to spent $150 just for a battery, and this week I received an email from them that the camera is out of stock, while I was waiting for my camera I checked on Google for a good battery for this camera and I got snapitdigital.com sold me a battery & charger for $25 http://www.snapitdigital.com/itemdet...?mod=PONB2LKIT

Thecameraprofessionals.com--Stay away from these people

I agree. These people are scam artists. They advertise a product and lure you to their website. You place your order (in my case Garmin Nuvi 650 GPS) and immediately you get an e-mail with subject line "The CameraProfessional.com: Order#.....Pending Verification". The e-mail asks you to call them at 800-496-0227 within 48 hours to verify your billing information. Otherwise, your order will be delayed. The minute I got this e-mail, I knew what this was all about because I encountered this sort of scam before. Basically, you call them and they try to sell you all kinds of accessories you do not need. If you say "No, thank you", they tell you that you will have to wait 4-6 weeks to receive the merchandise or they turn rude and tell you order is cancelled and hang up.

I send them two e-mails letting them know that I would not call and stated that I provided on the order form all the information they needed. No word from them so far, and I do not think I will hear from them.

Buyer BEWARE!!! Two times i tried to place orders with these clowns and two time they gave me the bait-switch scam.(Hey, where else can you get prices like these!) Besides being on hold for the longest of times you make the purchase. they send you an e-mail for you to call them. They ask for retail pkg. or just the body( no strap, lens, batt., nothing). Told them I didn't need anything. They then try to sell you accessories at outrageous prices to complement your product( in my case the canon hg10,and hv30). Still don't need anything. Wait a couple of days without e-mail confirms or tracking #'s. Call them back and guess what? The product mysteriously is either on backorder or over sold. And there is no garauntee of the purchased price. In other words they told me i'd get the price of the camcorder at that time. Talk about scam! Please stay away from these Brooklyn stores. They're no good and very, very rude!!
