Personally, I don't like ordering anything on my computer. Rather, I called them, and put the order in. That seems to work well, because much of their "hard selling" comes when you call to confirm your order anyway.
Ironically, they claimed that their computers were down when I first ordered my camera. They didn't say this at the time...a Monday morning.
I inquired when I received no confirmation email after my first phone order, and that was their excuse.
Try them today...make sure you take the name of the person you deal with...that'll be the first question they ask when you need assistance later.

"Abe's of Maine"
I was shopping for LCD TV's and found Abe's of Maine had one of the lowest prices online. Thinking that Abe was in the state of Maine, I thought I would try to find their address and take a trip up there, from CT.
That's when I came across this forum and read through all the threads. Very surprised when I found out Abe is actually "down the street", either NY City or NJ.
Curious on the name "Abe's of Maine", was this business ever in Maine or just a made up name that sounds kool? If not, isn't this deceit in itself?
After reading all the reviews and comments I will not take the chance and purchase from Abe.

BEWARE of Abe's of Maine. Worst customer service I've ever seen. Ordered a Samsung 46 in LCD TV from them on Nov. 29, now here it is Dec.9, still no tv, no tracking number, & no response to my emails. I have called several times and have been put on forget (I mean hold)! When I called this past Friday, the lady told me I should recieve tracking # on Monday, I didn't, called Monday evening and finally got to talk to a real person & was told my tv was on backorder and that I should have recieved an email which I didn't. DUH!!! When my order was placed, their website said tv was in stock. When they called me last Wed. Dec. 3 to confirm my order, it was in stock. They charged my credit card that same day. Strange how now that they have my money, they suddenly don't have the merchandise.
I wish I had researched them more before I made a purchase with them. I did read a lot of reviews about them but now I'm finding out a ton of info on these A-HOLES. I was planning on buying a home theater system and a blu ray player from them also, but wanted to see how they did on my tv first. Glad I waited. I will NEVER buy from them again. |

Abe's without a doubt has excellent prices, but it's not worth wasting your hard earned money with these idiots. I learned the hard way. I will not buy from them again, I would rather pay more at several other websites the next time.
By the way, Abe's was originally from Maine.

If we dont call them to check ordering's status, they wont ship it out or they will hold longer. I called them on morning Monday to check the status, and they shipped it out today. i also received their email today( confirmation shipping). Their term is sux for customer " Your Package should be inspected before you accept delivery. Once your shipment is accepted there will be absolutely no returns allowed." . I will not shop at their website again!

I plan on calling them again this morning and asking for a manager or even David, the VP of the place to see if I can find out more info. I wouldn't be so upset if they would just follow up on orders and let us, the consumer, know what's going on. They've got 1600.00 of my money and all I have is an order number! As I said, their customer service is THE worst I have ever seen.
I will not sing for my stuff until I have opened it first. Also will not be buying from Abe's again.

With all of the difficulties I have had with Abe's of Maine. My solution was continuing to call them and cancel the order. Then, you call your credit card bank to file a dispute. Go ahead with the process of filing out the form that the credit card bank will send to you because Abe's of Maine may not credit you back right away. Let the bank and the bank's lawyer deal with Abe's of Maine.
In my case, Abe's of Maine even gave me a fake tracking number for the shipment. The number was created by them with Icat Logistics (a shipping company), and it was just a number. I called Icat Logistics and found out that they never received anything from Abe's of Maine. Of course, I was not going to let Abe's of Maine keeping my money and wait. Personally, I think Abe's of Maine does not have many things in stock even though they say so online. When you order, they will hold your money and look around from other vendors/merchants then ask them to ship to you.
In buying things, after searching for the best price on PriceGrabber.com - Comparison Shopping, Online Shopping, Product Reviews, my advise is to call or use live chat with ABT's electronics. Most of the time, ABT will pricematch with any merchants. Abe's of Maine lists the LCD TV I want is $2569, but ABT's offered me $2549. I ordered from ABT and the TV was shipped out right away. Now it is on its way to my place. Thank you the sale man at ABT's Electronics. You can call him at 847-544-2594 (Steve Pawlak), very helpful and friendly guy. Plus, ABT is very reliable!
