Welcome to RR.
They are not listed in the Indonesia Yellow Pages. (Situs Direktori Indonesia) Quote:
Search Results of CENTRAL PLASMA INC in All Cities
Found: 0 Companies in 1.265625 second(s)
| Also, DomainsbyProxy.com is a private registration service. That means there is now way to find out where this company is located. The website was also just registered on; You should also never deal with a company that does not accept credit cards, a wire-transfer is the same as sending cash. The website goes on to say; Quote: |
Shipping is Free by UPS Expedited 7 - 8 Days
| So if I lived on the moon they would pay shipping?? It would cost at least 1-2 hundred dollars US for them to ship to me in the US.
I for sure would not use them.

NO NO NEVER!
As nomaxim said don't EVER use a wire transfer unless you know positively who the vendor is and he's legit.
One time long ago I got screwed on eBay because I trusted someone and did the wire transfer! Lucky for me it was only around $100 bucks!
Credit card only for internet/phone transactions! That way if you get screwed and its broken, not even shipped, etc..you can file with your credit card company and not pay. Even using PayPal sometimes if you get screwed it is hard to get your money back!
Good luck my friend!

I began the purchase process w/ them and was sent specific bank wiring instructions.
I also told them I would feel better if I could use a credit card. They replied, they did not have such services as of yet.
I've emailed the bank they do business w/ asking if Central Plasma Inc. and the actual account info is legit and if they have had any inquiries, complaints into their business practices.
I'm hoping to hear something next week.
It is prudent to be careful, especially in money wire operations. But let's face it, the prices are outstanding. Its worth investigating.

Any store that only accepts payment by wire transfer, western union, payment by cash/check, should be avoided like the plague. Add to it that this place is in Indonesia and you have a slam dunk that it's a scam. If you pay by any method other than credit card, you are risking your money. If you pay by credit card and don't receive a product, a simple call to your credit card company will get your money back. With cash, it's gone. Quote: |

| No it's not worth investigating. It is a scam. Let it go.
Just ask yourself why a store doesn't accept credit cards. Merchants that accept credit cards make many many times more money than those that don't. A merchant doesn't accept credit cards because they are either too big of a credit risk for a credit card processor to give them an account, or they are a scammer trying to steal your cash. Either way, mark my words as someone who has been in this business for a dozen years: you will get burned if you let $$$ guide you and try to buy a product at a price that's too good to be true from a western union or wire transfer scammer. If you're going to wire money to a store in Indonesia who promises to beat the prices of the top U.S. merchants who deal with billions of dollars in annual revenue and huge volume purchases, why don't you save yourself the time and just send me half the money, ask a neighbor to punch you in the head, and call it a day.
Just so you know, we receive emails on a regular basis from people saying "oh if I had only ran across your site first and saw that store X was a scam! I lost my $1,000 and there's no way for me to get it back!" Don't be a victim.
If you want a product that you can't afford, buy it from a well rated ebay seller. Most electronics that are used or refurbs are just as good as new.

centralplasma.net followup
Here it is midweek and no response from their bank.
I wrote central plasma this morning and told them I couldn't wire money blindly since they had no credentials. I questioned how they could do business in their main store w/o credit card transactions? I offered them again an opportunity to take the credit card as the only means of a safe transaction. Once the set had arrived as promised I'd write a review clearing up any confusion mitigating their present "scam" status they've been tagged w/ here in the States.
More to follow...

Here is one site you can check, I'd also check with the local business sites in Indonesia. http://db.aa419.org/fakebankslist.php
And even then what is to stop them from closing their account with that bank, after they get money from a couple people, and opening another account with a different bank in a few weeks. After all PayPal scams work in a very similar fashion.

I've always purchased my TV's-plasmas, home entertainment receivers, digital as well as 35mm cameras, lens, and accessories at either One Call or Camera World of Oregon. Full USA warranty and excellent customer service!
Both have been around for years.
When I was shopping around for my Nikon D-50 kit I must have looked at a dozen sites and called at least that many on the phone!
Most of the cheaper deals were with NO genuine Nikon battery or charger. Even some had some aftermarket lens. Most of the best deals were on the east coast but ALL were a ripoff due to the lack of full US warranty and the generic/off brand accessories that the camera came with.
One Call and Camera World WILL do you right and give you discounts on all your electronics needs as well as genuine, name brand accessories.
When I purchased my Sony Wega 42" Plasma HDTV in Nov. 2002 the retail at Fry's and Best Buy was $7500 + tax. One Call sold it to me for $5900 delivered-no tax. Brand new in box, full US warranty and shipped to my doorstep!
If the deal sounds too good to be true there is a reason!

There's a lot going on in China now days. Since we have sold our souls(and our jobs) to be manufactured over there for a cheaper price. They batch out the products for our major manufacturer name brand companies. Our companies will order a certain amount, say a thousand, of an item they expect to sale. The Chinese will make that thousand under that company's name, then turn around and make another thousand and put their name or another name on that thousand. They end up in Hong Kong or somewhere else in that part of the world for about a fourth of the name brand price. The people that bought this last thousand then can either sell them under that name or even switch back to the name brand name. It depends on how brave or greedy they are, in regards to how much money they want for the item. Thats Why All The Companies In This Country Are Screaming About China Violating The Patent Rights...There are a lot of very good buys out there right now but you have to be careful. I wouldn't buy anything out of that part of the world without a credit card and some history,Period. Because this situation has created some opporunities to buy a few things cheap, it's also created a better opportunity for scams and crooks. You might check on E-Bay. There are a lot of sellers there from Hong Kong. Check there pass history -how long they have been registered there, feed back on them and etc. If they don't have it, they can find it. Everything ends up in Hong Kong. Lots of luck and be careful. And Oh by the way a lot of those so called counterfeited items are already back here in the states being retailed.
Well lets see, We got Western Europe to build things for us first, then Japan, then Tiwain, India, Patistan, South Korea, Indoniesa, Mexico, S. America---Everyone getting the picture? When we put China on our favorite list about 25 years ago it was just like Eve biting into the apple. Only this time I'm worried that the apple may be to big and we may choke on it. China doesn't play by our rules and she doesn't have to and she doesn't play fair. Not to mention the rest of the world.
Woops sorry people I'm getting off track and to political. Lets just buy our toys and keep on playing with them. That what I'm going to do because there isn't anything else to do. The DAMN Congress is flying this planet. And oh yah I'm going to bed. Sorry for the off track people---Tim
