I understand your point. I have over the years made many purchases over the internet. 99+% of them have been flawless. I always do my homework checking out the etailer or ebay seller as I did with TVAuthority. As I've said in this thread they looked very good when I placed my order and then immeadiately started a rapid fall. The common theme in all the very dissatisfieds is that they promise and just DON'T DELIVER what they say they will.
Almost all my experiences with others have been flawless. and any issues were solved quickly as promised. TVAuthority was and I hope my only nightmare. The amount of wasted time and frustration they have wrought on people needlessly makes me hope that they go out of business ASAP.
I continue to shop on-line because the selection cannot be equaled, the prices are good and they bring it right to my door. Your point of paying a little more is well taken and sometimes it's certainly worth it. But other times the price differential is just to great or the local guys just don't have what I want. The fact is that the vast majority go smoothly. There is a saying in business "Ignore your customers and they will go away" this cannot happen to TVAuthority fast enough.
