Is Computer Gate dead?

Since at least Thursday, February 1, ComputerGate.com aka:

Computer Gate,
2968 Corvin Drive,
Santa Clara, CA 95051 USA,
Phone Order: 888 437-0895
Other inquiries: 408 730-0673
Fax: 408 730-0735

Has not answered its phones, responded to e-mail, or processed orders.

Does anyone know what is going on? This is/was a favorite vendor of mine, and I hate to see it go. A friend seems to have had her debit card charged, but no merchandise sent.

Something is amiss at Computer Gate!!

I got a busy signal at both of their toll-free (888) 437-0895 and other inquiries: (408) 730-0673 numbers.

The site is up and I've found nothing remarkable via cursory Google searches of "computer gate" or "computergate.com".

Perhaps try contacting the Admin/Tech for the domain at the "@scpnetwork.com" email on their WHOIS .

Well, they are NOT dead. They merely moved and were closed for a week. Their typical inability to communicate with customers prevented them from actually being honest and forthright about it, to their own detriment. They lost many orders, including mine, and still somehow could not say the magic words "We're sorry." The sales rep actually seemed puzzled when I cancelled an order that I originally wanted shipped second day air, after waiting a week for it with no response. There is no excuse for not answering e-mails, since this can be done from anywhere, even during an office move. My opinion of them is the same: Be careful of ComputerGate, and only use them for cheap, non-critical items that you NEVER plan to return. If an item is more than about $15, chances are someone else has a better deal anyway. ComputerGate remains the king of cheap, so cheap that complaining about them is almost as silly as waiting for them to improve!
