holly-squirrel is on a distinguished road
Avian Medicine Chest / Pet Medicine Chest

Is any pet lover out there familiar with the products that these folks offer for sale? My largest parrot, an eclectus died less than 4 months ago of a horrible disease called PDD that has had vets baffled for about 30 years now. Now all of the rest of my flock is showing symptoms, and one is rather severe with the central nervous system part -- seizures!!

I have read various things over the years about these products, and was favorably impressed. But someone on a PDD board warned me that the company sells false hope more than functional alternative therapies. It's tough to know what is urban legend and what is truth. I have some serious health issues myself, and sucessfully combine regular Rx and alternative / complimentary therapies. It makes sense that this could work well for pets also, but some items are better than others.

This is a critically serious situation, so if any of you folks know someone who has exotic birds, please contact them for information. I will be very grateful. Thanks in advance.

Sorry to hear about your birds. Unfortunately the only help I can provide are links - I hope at least one helps:

Bird PDD links

In addition to posting at bird-related forums, you might want to give a try posting over at TechIMO, too: http://www.techimo.com/forum/index.html

Best wishes!
