Hi, im here to tell you guys about my shopping Experience with Exotic Phone. Couple of weeks ago I placed an order for a cell phone with them. I asked them about their shipping charges, the rep told me that, they have three methods of shipping, starting with ground for $18.95, then they have 2nd day for $35.00 and lastly they have Over night for $50.00. I thought the shipping cost was way expensive so thats why I requested for a discount, the rep told me that, they wont be able to give me any discount but he agreed to give me special offer. The offer was that, if I place the order over the phone then I will get over night shipping for the cost of ground ($18.95), I thought to myself that if was a good deal, I placed the order over the phone.
Next day I was waiting for the phone to arrive but it didn't show up, anyways I called ExoticPhone.com and asked them whats going on, they told me that, they didn't ship the phone yet, I became so angry, I just wanted to cancel the order but the rep told me that there was some problem for which they couldn't ship it, he promised that he'll ship it out immediately & send me a free car charger a long with it. Finally I agreed and told them to ship it. The next day also the phone didn't come, I called them again, this time they never knew what to say, the rep was a very nice person thats why I couldn't be rude, he asked for one more day & this time finally he promised free shipping. I got the phone the very next day along with a refund for $18.95 & a free car charger. Anyways I have no complains against them because at the end of the day they gave me what I wanted & hats off to their customer service team for being able to handle a Nut case like me.

i m just going to accuse you of lying again since they would never do something like that and no one in their right minds would go around posting something like you just posted. What kind of business is willing to reduce shipping by 40 bucks?!? For every post you have, I will write something back just to ensure people don't buy from you guys.

Im a satisfied customer of ExoticPhone and I will place all my orders with them & if you have a problem with that, then you can take it and go somewhere else...

You may be a unsatisfied customer but that has nothing to with me, I never had a bad experience with them so I don't see any problems sharing this info with everyone. And if im not mistaking then, I believe everyone comes out here to share their experience with a specific reseller....

This is it!!! A total team of only 9 members who are working in the whole of Exoticphone.com. When customers call at their number 212-561-5358, the call is being forwarded to Bangladesh via the VOIP technology (using 8 x 8 formerly Packet 8 service). Customers who already called and spoke with their customer support representatives, i’m quite sure 70% will agree that they faced communication problems as in the voice breaking up, the call getting disconnected, etc.

Now, can you even imagine how vulnerable the condition of exoticphone.com is? There are customers who places order over phone with them. For that they have to give out their credit card information (in some cases additional information as in driver’s license, copy of credit card, social security number for t-mobile activation plan) to people who are sitting in a small south-asian country (Bangladesh). If the customers only knew (?) to whom and where they are giving out this information to and how risky it is, as it increases the chance of Identity theft, provided if the information, people sitting in Bangladesh use it for a bad purpose. Exoticphone does not take any measure to protect or destroy this sensitive customer information whatsoever.

Now, let’s talk about the kind of business they do. If we use the term “Scammer”, that would probably not be the right term, as they have a store location in NY and is a registered company, but the kind of business they do, they are quite close of being an “Internet Fraud”. Only supplier they have in US is “National Electronics”, other than that most of their cell phones comes from Hong Kong and China. They claim that they sell Brand New, Unlocked, OEM Cell phones (this has to be the biggest joke) when all they do is sell refurbished and second hand products.

They do have some satisfied customers (customers who are extremely lucky to get a refurbished phone in almost brand new condition..lol) but other than that, all negative.

That is it for now. What ever I have mentioned, I don’t know it’s a negative or a positive review; this is what the truth is. Maybe im no one and just writing this negative reviews to hamper exoticphone’s reputation, but Im not the only one, whose been writing all this.

I would not do business with Exotic Phone again.

I picked up an LG Shine phone from them at their NYC location in August 08. Was obviously an open box, and there was no USB cable. But at least the phone worked. However I returned to their Broadway location a few weeks later to get a USB cable and the doorman said they had moved and were no longer in the building.

But last friday I called and ordered an LG Secret. They charged my card $207 and said the phone would ship on Monday. They told me they would email me an invoice.

1) Exotic Phone charged my credit card immediately.

2) Exotic Phone NEVER emailed me an invoice like they promised.

3) Exotic Phone NEVER shipped the phone.

4) Exotic Phone FAILED to call me to tell me they weren't shipping the phone.

5) I called them yesterday, they said and I quote 'there was something wrong with their account, that they had issued me a full refund and to try to order the phone next week.'

But I never got the refund. I had to call the credit card company to dispute the charge. I will let you know how this gets resolved, but these people are obviously shady Scam Artists. I should have known better! Next time i want an unlocked phone I'm trying an ebay seller with positive ratings.

And I will definitely complain to the better business bureau and the FTC about these low-lives...

There maybe two reasons for this person to post such a comment about exotic phone:

The first reason maybe - this person is totally out of his/her mind and doesn't get much attention from anyone in real life that's why he/she is posting some true bull sh*t out here to draw some attention.....

The second reason maybe - he/she is working for one of exotic phone's competitor, im getting a slight feeling that, this person is a employee of ebay, if not why would someone write positive comments about another reseller (ebay) when they have decided to come out here to write negative's about a specific reseller (exotic phone)????

Now let me tell you why Im writing this positive review about exotic phone, I placed over 8 orders with exotic phone so far, whenever a new phone came out in the market I just went and placed an order on their website. I love them because of the following reasons:

1. Their phones are brand new, unlocked & OEM.
2. Their prices are the lowest.
3. Their shipping cost is a bit expensive but very effective, I pay $18.95 for ground shipping & receive it the next day or 2nd day because im close to them, im in MA.
4. Their customer service is awesome, ya maybe their phone line is a bit bad but they always make sure to call me back when ever they miss my call.
5. Their live chat is very helpful.
6. They have a wonderful website, its very easy & safe to browse their site.

I don't care who says what, im always going to buy from them...

No my friend, I do not work for ebay, I work for a bank. You obviously work for exotic phone... you stole my money and lied about it.

I am contacting the authorities at the Federal Trade Commission as we speak, they WILL shut you down.
