To JamieSuzanne

I am sorry to read what happened to you. I hate people like those !@#$%^. What I would try to do, but I am only speculating, is to reverse the load on to your credit card company. That is what you pay the fees for ! Send the package back, take digital pictures of it and of the shipping receipt to make sure you can prove that you sent it back. Call them up and tell them the item you bought is not what you were expecting and you have the feeling you have been taken. I have an AMEX and I always buy those things with it since I get a very good service from them. I had a despite with Lenovo (the new name for IBM laptops) and they took care of everything. I am not sure if this will help you my friend, I sure hope it will.
Google everything before you buy anything. It saved me from being taken again.
Good luck,
Simon

I saw one post where someone said they had paid with a debit card.

Will I be unable to dispute this charge if I used a debit card? I've dispusted charges w/ my bank before (I had lost my debit card shortly before going to Mexico, and wasn't away I had lost it. When I go tback there were huge charge at gas stations, which is one place you don't have to sign or use a pin number if you pay at the pump. I told the bank I wasn't even in teh country, and that I didn't realize i had lost my card). They were very nice about it, I just filled out a dispute form, and I got my money back right away.

So, do you think I'll still be able to get the money back?

Also, if I do manage to get in touch w/ the bank before teh charge goes through, can they block it? Through the banks site you can have payment stopped on checks, but i saw nothing about credit/debit cards.

Beliiiiiiiiiieve me, I have learned a lesson here. Thing that ticks me off, is I've been in scam situations before, and they always seemed fishy so I would research before anything happened. But for some reason this time I didn't, and it wasn't until after I had gotten off the phone w/ the guy (confirming my order) that I was like "Wait a minute....some of this stuff is a little messed up."

Namely, a $149 warranty for a $129 item? But the guy offered it to me for only $49, which at that point seemed such a good deal, the fact that itw as more than the item itself didn't even register.

And does anyone else notice that the order confirmation number has no use, and wehn you go to your account it doesn't even tell you teh status or how much you paid? I'm not actually sure how much I was charged. It all happened so fast.

What REALLY gets me is that all the people that work at this place are SOOOO RUDE! I mean, do they take "rudeness 101" before they're allowed to work in customer service? I mean, what CS rep says "I dont have time for this" or hangs up on people? RIDICULOUS!

It's too bad that filing complaints w/ BBB doesn't do more. It would be nice if places that had a negative rating with the BBB would put up popups or warnings when you tried to go to the site, stating that it had a bad rating and to check out the complaints before ordering.

That I do not know

I am not sure about a debit card, but I would think that since it is another way to pay with plastic, you should have some ground. Don't give up.

I am with you about the inability to efficiently do something about scumbags like these people. Is the whole system that doesn't work. You can be late for a payment and you credit is already effected, or you can have your lost debit card used by somebody and pay the consequences, your identity can be stolen and you have years going by before anything changes, but we (the consumers) can not do anything to put garbage like those out of business.

Good luck to you

S.

I'm currently on hold with "Robert". It's been telling me for the past 15 minutes that my wait time should only be 1 minute, so this is just lovely that I am wasting cell phone minutes to do this, and I'm sure nothing will even come of it.

I called my bank, and they said the only way to stop payment on a debit card is to cancel it (which is just a huge hassle, bceause I pay all of my bills through that card) and even if I cancel, if the payment has already been verified, then it will still go through. SO cancelling might be a complete waste of time.

So I'm calling FC to see if I can get luck and get them to cancel the order, and even if they charge me a restocking fee, I'll just dispute that amount. THat wey they'll only get a small amount of money from me instead of $200.

I emailed the NY attorney general, too....is there nothing that can be done about this place????

What the he ll did he do, decide to take his lunchbreak before he answered my call? What a douche!!!!!!!!!!!

THis is like the most frustrating thing ever!

So, I finally get through to a guy on Customer Service. I start explaining to him that everything was more than I wanted to spend, and that I wanted to cancel. He tried to convince me of the "Excellent deal" i was getting by reminding me of all the free stuff I was getting. I said "All I wanted was a camera, and the cameras in the stores all have normal batteries, not trial ones." He told me that was incorrect, but I Told him that my roommate had one and she'd been using the camera several days w/out charging it.

BEfore all this, he had told me that they didn't even have the camera in stock, and it would be in on MOnday. I found this interesting since one of the ways "Robert" convinced me to spend more money was to offer me "Express shipping". I'm not really sure how you can express-ship something that you won't even have for another week, but whatever.

So anyway, the guy tells me that he can't cancel my order because it has already been processed. I told him that since the product wasn't even in, I should be able to cancel. HE says no, and then tries again to tell me what a great deal it alll is, and that I shouldn't cancel.

I flat out tell him I know I'm being screwed. I said "If I refuse the package, will I get a full refund?" and he said yes. SO I said that's what I Would do, then he says "You know what, I'll go ahead and just cancel your order for you."

Funny...I thought he couldn't do that.

But what bothers me is #1, the "confirmation" email I got didn't give me a total, so I really don't know how much I was being charged. and #2, I have not recieved any emails confirming my order was cancelled. Does this mean I"ll probably still recieve the product and still be charged?

The guy didn't hang up on me at all, which seems to be a common practice of theirs based on other's stories. But he did cut me off and interrupt and make it hard for me to get a word in edgewise.

Well, you might just got what you wanted

I am happy to read you might resolved you situation. In case you will get the package, just send it back. Just make sure you have a digital picture of the shipping label or receipt so you have some ground.

Good luck to you

Simon

Perhaps you should call the debit card co., and tell them not to pay for the charge.

Evidently, it hasn't been processed yet.

Did anyone else recieve any kind of confirmation that their order was cancelled if they actually agreed to cancel it?
