The unlocked Motorola phones that eGizmo sells can not be repaired in the US. They have foreign software and components. No where on the eGizmo site is this mentioned. Motorola will not warranty these cellphones and charges $150 to exchange them. Few of these phones go bad so eGizmo has been able to keep this scram going. I have reported them to the NY state office of the Attorney General and to the NY State Comsumer Protection Board. We'll see what happens
update - eGizmo is replacing the cellphone and including a warranty with it.
Satisfied with vendor now. They probable would have replaced it sooner but for Minilec in Chatsworth, Ca and Doctor Cell Phone in Dallas, TX saying they could fix it and not being able to. Motorola USA would not even try. The phone has a manufacturer defect.
eGizmo aside - Motorola is not supporting unlocked GSM cellphone in the USA. I am filling a report with the FCC as this goes aganist the whole idea of SIM cards in GSM phones.
