Your saddlebags are sagging because the leather on the back is too soft and flexible; the cover is heavier than the bottom, so it is pulling the bag down due to gravity. The best thing you can probably do is to locate a leather-worker who is willing to reinforce them from the inside, and run the bolts thru the reinforcement. A thin piece of sheet metal is likely your best bet, and a thin piece of leather on the inside so that your clothes or whatever are protected from the metal. Masonite could also work, but it is pretty weighty stuff.

Another option is to have straps sewn or riveted onto a highest part of the back -- taller than the top, and hang the bags from the brackets.

chargeback

If you're within 30 days, just call your bank and do a credit card chargeback. Have the URL of the no-hassles return policy on leatherup.com website handy, that is all your bank needs in case the merchant disputes the chargeback.

Have you tried the BBB?
I can't find a file on them so looks like you would be the first.

Help on saddlebags

Did you add the correct metal washers needed for the saddlebags? Make sure to add metals washers and you are good to go. Also I have bought many things from that firm and they are very reputable. Other places charge much more for the same stuff. I think if you install it correctly they will look and work great.... I persoanlly never had any issue with them so good luck.

Also chargeback will only work if you return the item and it's not altered. So call that firm and see if you can make a deal. Tell them to send you another pair. I am sure they will, they did me some big favors in the past, if I find the persons name over there I will post it here.

Similar Problem with leather up.

I have the same problem with leather up saddlebags . They are a piece of crap. They do not mention anything online and just convince you that the bags would work just buy them. I really hate that. They lie to you. Its false advertising. They prey on a customers lack of knowledge. The Saddlebags are a piece of crap and Dangerous to ride around with. In other words its the worst quality of saddlebags i have ever come across in my life. I am thinking about taking them to court. I would appreciate a support from any one here. Any one who rides a bike and has purchased saddlebags from Leatherup please contact me.

I am also unable to find a business registration with either the Nevada Secretary of State or California Secretary of State, at least with the name 'Leatherup.com', 'Leartherup com', or 'Leatherupcom'. A business called LeatherUp Inc. does appear in CA. records (filed on 29JAN1992) which has since been 'suspended', however none of the address's match plus the WhoIs info for 'LeatherUp.com shows that the domain wasn't registered until 10AUG1999. So I don't believe that that is the same business.

Business licenses mean nothing. All they are good for is to be inventory by your local and state governments; not to mention varies and in some cases high fees.
