stop payment - kathy lew - on services rendered

is it ok to stop payment when a computer guru removes all my viruses?

the computer stopped working a week later - actually, the dial up modem stopped working - the computer is clean and works great.

so, i stopped payment. sure, it cost me $90 ($30 to stop 3 checks) but that beats paying $180 for the complete service.

If you want to see the check or get more details, email me here.

Thank you

It won't be ok with the guru and he'll probably have grounds to sue you....Odds are the problem with the modem is a different problem.

It's generally a very bad idea to post your phone number to a public forum.

Also, regarding your problem: it's bad logic to assume that the "guru"'s work had anything to do with your computer breaking a week later - you might as well had said that it broke 5 years later and then attributed it to the guru's work. If he did anything to cause the problem, it would have broken immediately or maybe upon the next reboot. Computers don't decay over time, they either work or they don't. Chances are he had nothing to do with your new problem and withholding payment would be highly unethical and illegal.
