or whatever you want to call them will continue this cycle. They have remained elusive. I have reported these sites to every organization I could find and spent some time Monday talking live to many on the phone including representives at Yahoo and Google. I also emailed sites like Tigerdirect and Amazon including the real site the EICAFRAUD link is imitating which is
www.ibcim.org
There response to the question "Are you associated with
WWW.EICA-FRAUD.ORG?: > No this is a website that we are currently taking
> legal action against. It is used to scam people of
> money.

> service@ibcim.org
Well shortly after they are shutdown but look, this appeared today without the .org -
WWW.EICAFRAUD.INFO
I started 11/25 and the most I've seen as progress probably from the results of the over 50 complaints I made this week is most of the URLs above like
www.discounts-webstore.com are inactive now (11/30/06). Though many of the sites are now redirecting to
www.discount-webstore.com Active.
Think about it, how easy is it to come up with another name after the domain "shuts" them down. To win this war it would take an investigator dedicated to each week searching for this/these people with enough power to enforce shutdowns and then physically catching these criminals.
Bottom line, unless this person/people are caught it will continue. Sad things is even more will pop up once criminals find out how easy it is to evaid the law. Most people like myself were tempted by the low prices and professional looking webpage with pictures of every electronic and "too good to be true" prices. I even considered buying and selling. They also have quick email responses. Here are my observations.
An authority (FBI, Interpol, etc) needs to set up a transaction or several that can be traced "somehow" through Western Union. (To me Western Union needs to be involved at this point but think about it..they are making money from every transaction too.)
Once they get an idea of where this money is going investigate further to find out if it is a group or individual. Someone may be "picking up" the money who actually is employed as a Western Union agent.
Once that is done a sting operation should be made. The question is does anybody really care besides us most of whom have been ripped off? This is like a needle in a hackstack at the end of the day. The criminals may be even reading this Thread for laughs! They can easily find this thread to see what the
heat is like. I see them posting fake reviews like here -
http://shopping.yahoo.com/merchratin...ant_id=1049051
(Notice Maria C's comment in the link above) You know that's B.S.!!!
I see it this way. It needs to be a huge organized detailed complaint with names of victims with all the original emails (with header info), fake invoices that were emailed and Western Unions receipts and the Website address that was involved. Include even search engine involved.
Fact is it needs to be a real case. Obviously this scam is worldwide being that they have this site
http://www.onlinewintersale.com for European customers. (active as of 11/30/06)
Who is in this with me? I'm not going to sit around and let these criminals continue. It's not just my money being lost but the fact that they are so blatant about it. I'm guessing they have scammed from my research over $500,000 or more.
I'll personally start gathering the information from you guys if you send it the yahoo account I just made:
webstorescamreport@yahoo.com I don't honestly believe we will ever get our money back but we may someday have the satisfaction of having these thieves caught. I'm posting this same message on other sites as I find time this week.
To help catch these guys if you were a victim
Please include:
Name, address, western union receipt info or scan of it and any relavent contact information. This information will only be presented to an authority once enough info to make a meaningful case is gathered. I will not accept any information omitting Western Union receipts/transaction numbers because that's the only way I can tell if you actually sent cash from a valid Western Union transaction# In the end pattern will be clear. The emails are almost word for word the same.
The top ways to identify this site is
1. WESTERN UNION PAYMENT
2. Mininum order amount
3. Prices well under other online electronic stores on "all" the electronics sold
4. The template they are using "for now" see
http://www.onlinewintersale.com and
http://www.discount-webstore.com
Thank you guys. I will honestly try my best to organize the data. I was embarrased when I found out I lost my money but now I'm ready to stop whining and do something about it. These sites are going to kill if many online shoppers start getting wide-eyed right before
