Beware of Monarch if you cancel

On 08/07/06 I put an order in at Monarch for an AMD 4800x2 cpu, about 5 minutes later something came up and I had to cancel the order. I sent an Email and it was acknowledged. Two days later they still took the money out of my account. I called, and all I got was excuses. If they held everyones money that canceled in an interest bearing account they would have quite a scam going. It is one thing to put a hold on the money and then charge the account when you ship, but Monarch Choses to steal your money for 30 days even though you cancel 5 minutes later. I have purchased many items without any problems, however this is a bad business practice and there are plenty of merchants out there that do not use this practice. General Information

Original Business Start Date: January 1993
Principal : Mr. Richard Harris President
Customer Contact: Mr. John Camp Administrative Contact
Phone Number: (770) 939-8886
Fax Number: (770) 939-9828

Please state which company you are referring too with a link. There are a few stores that will come up here at RR with a search parameter of 'Monarch'.
Example;
http://www.resellerratings.com/seller2079.html
http://www.resellerratings.com/seller12582.html
http://www.resellerratings.com/seller8530.html
There are 3 in this case, which one are you talking about? It also helps if you give a link to the BBB.org page and quote it as well.
If you are talking about 'Monarch Computer Systems' then try this;
BBB.org
and
Quote:
When evaluating complaint information, please consider the company's size and volume of business. The number of complaints filed against the company may not be as important as the type of complaints and how the company handled them.

The Bureau processed a total of 74 complaints about this company in the last 36 months, our standard reporting period. Of the total 74 complaints in the last 36 months, 55 of those were closed in the last 12 months.
Please try to be a little more exact.
Thanks

The BBB will give a 'unsatisfactory' if even one complaint goes unanswered, one out of 74 isn't all that bad.

It took a "very dissatisified" rating here before I finally heard from Monarch. They claimed they had just processed my refund for a cancelled order, and tried to urge me to change my rating. Even if I see the refund posted right now, I won't change the rating. So, I have an idea now how they get their good ratings. What a way to operate a business!

Imagine keeping all of that money in an interest bearing account. It is not fair to the people that worked hard for that money. They can refund it just as fast as they took it out.I recently ordered some accessories for a Sun setter awning I purchased, and I noticed I forgot to add the discount coupon number, so I called and I reordered to get my discount, and even though 2 orders showed up on their site, my account was only charged once, and that was on the day it shipped. For a company that claims to sell state of the art computer components, Monarch needs to spend some money on better E commerce software.

Monarch seems to be a pyramid-type scheme

Monarch Computer Systems appears to be a pyramid scheme. What I mean is that they have no cash-flow or operating capital so they take your order funds and use them to fulfill previous orders. Everything is always "in stock" on their website when you order, but in reality, they probably have little or no stock available. Immediately after you order, any contact with caring humans will cease and you will discover that "oops, its not really in stock after all......" They may use your order payment to pay their employee's salaries or to order and pay for items that were ordered by some poor soul weeks or even months ago. Of course, his money went to fulfill the order of someone way before him.

When you are told that it will take 30 days to refund your creditcard, it is not because it takes them that long to process it. Its because they don't have the money and won't until some new (suckers) customers order and pay. This is most likely some kind of illegal fraud but I'm not a lawyer, just a disgruntled ex-customer.

Monarch is probably using shills here to give themselves enough good ratings to keep a few new customers coming their way. This is a must because without new money coming in, the Monarch House Of Cards would collapse in upon itself and some folks might even go to jail, like they should. I wish that RR would be more proactive in rooting out companies that falsely promote themselves as satisfactory by misusing the ratings system here.

I know there are a few satisfied Monarch customers but they can consider themselves lucky! Monarch does not care about customers. Hell, they won't even respond to a customer's request to find out the status of his/her order. They are a complete disgrace to the legitimate Etail world and anyone who is foolish enough to try them a second time needs a good, swift kick just for being so dumb.

Just my opinion but I base it on true events.............

It amazes me that people STILL buy from monarch. In April '03 they had a 9.75 rating when I placed a order. Long story short it was horrable. It took four months and my cc company involvement before I received my refund! FOUR MONTHS! I'll never deal with them again.
