One more thing. Has anyone else ordered from ChiefValue and gotten Newegg catalogs in the box?

Response to Flipper!
Flipper
I have purchased many an item from Newegg, since I build computers for other people. I have returned many an item back to Newegg with no issues at all. I have nothing to say but great things about them. The prices were right on, the service was on time and I have no complaints. As a matter of fact many a company could learn a thing or two from Newegg! So move on and stop wasting my time, thank you!

I also build for other people. As for moving on why? If you pick 3 day garanteed shipping thats what i want not ground. As of this date i have never had to return a product at all. All i want is what i pay for in an honest manner is that to much to ask. Also i won a contest a month ago on there site and still to this date i havent gotten what i won. Everytime i contact them which is 1 time a week they give me a ship date and it comes and goes. What is so hard with saying look might take 6 to 10 weeks but it will send out but instead they say will ship monday then dont ship it, Is that honest i dont think so. Someone needs to get there stuff straight. Was time i never had any problems either it is just in the last 2 months or so. One order was for a computer for my daughter for xmas, i picked 3 dau garanteed and they changed it to ground for the same price and of course being xmas it was delayed because it was changed to ground. Whos fault is that mine heck no i picked the right shipping. If they are going to change shipping to ground then i should have cheaper shippping rates at the very least.
When i asked them they said we have a contract with ups and they garantee it 3 days even if ground. So i contacted ups they said they would never do that because ground is different than 3 day and they are not going to garantee ground the same as 3 day because of cost. So newegg lied about it.
Honesty in a merchant is very important. We may not see eye to eye but let it happen to you, you might forgive them as i did for a month but if it keeps happening then sooner or later you will get fed up like i have.
Everytime i get it changed to ground for the same price i will file a bbb and ag report until they include it in the tos they have.

Is NewEgg saying it is guaranteed 3 days to your address or to any address because UPS does guarantee a delivery date for ALL ground shipping, it just might not be 3 days. It could be more or less.
You can go to UPS.com and do a time and cost from NewEgg to you and see if ground it guaranteed in 3 days to your location. If it is, it is UPS fault, if not it is NewEggs fault.
For example if I do a package on Monday from Whittier, CA 90601 (NewEgg's Address for Exampe) to Olathe, KS 66061 it is guaranteed by end of day Friday. This is a 4 day guarantee by UPS.
If it ships to Denver, CO 80208 the shipment is guaranteed by end of day Thursday and so is 3 day select, so why use 3 day select when it costs more and ground is guaranteed the same time?

I use the 3 day for times that i need it by that time. LIke x-mas week. I ordered a full computer i was building for someone and so i picked 3 day because christmas was coming and i knew ups would be busy. So newegg changed 1 package to ground and wouldnt you know it was that one package that didnt make it under 3 day i would of had it friday but since it changed to ground it was held because of the rush so i didnt get it till after christmas. My main complaint is they dont offer ground but if they think it will get there in 3 days they will change it to ground and the cost stays the same. Seems like a bait and switch tatic to me. I do admit most time it will get here in 3 days but c'mon if i pay for 3 day what is so hard with leaving it that way or putting a notice in plain sight saying we are changing it to ground because we deem it will be there in the same amount of time. That way if it is important that i get it on time i can call them and make sure it is changed back to 3 day or at the least give a discount when they change it to ground. That way it can avoid any problems not do it in such a way that it is sneaky and the customer will be the one payiong for it. When i shop online i dont want to have to use web chat or call cs to get things right i just want to enter my order, pick my shipping, pay for it and have it get here on time.
Like the contest i entered and won from newegg. I sent in the paper work and was told ship prize on the 15th. When it didnt happen i called eddy pham and he said will ship the 22, when that didnt happen i called jason and he said would ship on the 29th. TO this day i still havent gotten it. So is that contest a scam? I have no idea i know i won but i never got the item. Does anyone know who i can file a complaint with over that i am sure there is a law about sending out winnings or running a fraudlent contest.....
No im not dishin newegg but 30 day or better to send out a prize and lying about the ship date so many times just seems wrong. Any info on who to contact would be just great thank you
Just searched california law it states you by law should recive it with in 30 days or file a complaint with consumers affiar office and a couple other like the fbi internet fraud unit. so i guess i answered my own question..lol any other information would be helpful also.
Also found out to refuse a prize you must do it in writing thru the postal service and or just refuse when it gets to your house then they are released from any and all responseability and will award the prize to someone else. So i guess a email refusal wont work...lol

there is no price difference when they change it to ground in shipping fees so why even let it go ground. I can see if i save a buck or 2 but i dont shipping cost stay the same either way.

I do agree that if they are specifically saying you are getting "3 Day Select" and not just "3 Days" and are changing it to ground, that is not a good thing... but still the guarantee is right on UPS website and they publish this... the guarantee for 3 Day Select is no better than the guarantee for ground.
If UPS is not meeting their ground guarantees and claiming "oh well it's ground" than there is something seriously wrong there.

UPS, Fed-Ex and the rest bid on Newegg's business; they get a rate and contract for bulk.
They do not pay by the package, more like by the ton...
They may change their carrier if too many are late or damaged or whatever, but a few packages late won't cause them to give up the discounted shipping.
You've made your complaint. You're a statistic now. I suppose if you pester them enough they may throw you a bone, but you're not going to affect a change in their shipping policy.
