Cheap iPods??!!? -- a duh realization

Holly- I have to kindly disagree with you. Do a google search on the gray market. IPODS are one of the most popular gray market items there is. Last week you could order 100 4gb nanos for $183 a unit, this week it is up to $196. Prices change weekly even daily due to the availability. But they are out there, you just have to know how to look and be very very careful. 90% of all sellers are going to be scammers but there are some good ones out there. I got an ok deal for 5 last month at $205 each and sold them on ebay for no more $220. I just order 150 though at a much better price so the profit will be better

SellYourStuff, I like kind disagreement! I can learn this this way. Until less than 5 minutes ago, I'd nerver read anything about gray market purchases. I had only listened to a very cautious friend's warnings when I was exploring digital cameras.

Judging by your name looking familiar to me, I'm figuring that you are familiar with my adventures in purchasing an iPod. This thread is my effort to learn more, and if that wasn't enough, to convince myself to stick with authorized sellers in the future. I want useful feedback.

I had actually done all of the footwork that I knew to do prior to purchasing on June 20. Google did not bring up any problems with the company at that time of day. The thread that I later discovered did indeed start that day, but not in time to do me any good.If you can tell me some additional ways to shop more carefully, I'd be glad to hear them.
