sh363, I'd also file a complaint/report with the registrar, dotregistrar.com, and report your identity theft to ICANN. Under ICANN rules, WHOIS domain information must be factual and providing false contact information can be grounds for domain name cancellation (even though the site's already removed, it can't hurt to file a report).
