Recent Scam Stores - ONLY use a credit card to buy online!
There have been a number of stores that have popped up online recently that are likely total scams, designed to rip you off and deliver nothing. These stores are usually located oversees in strange locations like Greece or Indonesia, but some are in the UK.
The defining element of fraud is that these stores only accept payment by cash, either bank transfer, Western Union, check, etc. They appear to have incredible prices, and they do - because they are totally bogus.
You should never buy anything online at any price using a money transfer. If you do this, you will undoubtedly never see your money or your merchandise. By paying online with a credit card (not debit), you are very protected against fraud. You would simply call your card company to dispute the charge and recover your monies if you don't receive your merchandise. You do not have that protection with any other form of payment.
If you must buy online using Paypal, fund the payment with a credit card, not your bank account or Paypal account. Funding with a credit card offers you the most protection.

master00, are you asking about Visa, Mastercard, or American Express fraud protection? Those policies are well known. At least in the western world, is there some reason you do not know about them? (these polices I mean?)
Oh, and welcome to RR!

raven69, Please call your CC company, VISA or MASTERCARD, more details would help. You are protected from fake charges. Please give details of your problem if possible?

| On the bright side you will never make that mistake again - never buy goods using money transfer. Money transfer is a great way to send money to a friend or relative in need, it is not a safe way to buy goods.
master00: If you buy an item with a Visa, MC, or Amex but you don't receive the product or the product that you do receive is broken or otherwise doesn't match what you ordered, all you have to do is call your credit card company to dispute the charge. They will contact the merchant and attempt to resolve the dispute. In nearly all cases you will get your money back. On the contrary, money transfers like western union (or paying by check) offer no such protections.

Yes some stores try to write fake reviews for themselves but over the past 10 years we have developed a number of strategies and technologies to detect and prevent this. Regardless, you're always protected if you pay by credit card.

By the way, to ScottW and other folks at ResellerRatings, though I've barely posted anything I use ResellerRatings all the time and I wanted to say that you folks provide a great service. Whether you all get paid or not you sure deserve a big 'thank you'.
