[RESOLVED] Newegg Agreement Violation and Unresponsiveness

Newegg has violated its agreement on policy terms. When I shopped at Newegg I made sure to choose components that did NOT state "This item is warranted through the product manufacturer only". I recently notice this statement attached to an item AFTER my purchase has shipped. I contacted Newegg to ask about the recent change and they simple stated that they try to keep customers informed. I even pointed to the second item in my order that is simply the same component but available in two different forms, oem and retail. I explained that I chose the retail so that I can be insured with the replacement within one year per their policy. They have not responded to my email. In other words, MY AGREEMENT TO THEIR POLICY AND DECISION TO PURCHASE IS NOT WORTHY OF HONOR. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNETHICAL! I agreed to the policy and price by submitting monetary payment, but NEWEGG HAS RENEGED THEIR PROMISE AFTER ACCEPTING PAYMENT!

I FEEL AS THOUGH A LIAR HAS CONNED ME OF MONEY, AS THE PROMISE IS BROKEN AT MY EXPENSE.

To be taken advantage is not what I agreed to when I decided to purchase. Also, it's evident that Newegg cares only about itself after I have discussed this issue with their customer service.

What makes matters worse is that Newegg has not returned contact after (3) emails since last week. I am very disappointed as I've been their customers for years and this is how Newegg shows its appreciation.

Maybe the item won't break and this will be a "non" issue...

Funny that an e-ad for Newegg was at the bottom of this post. Fat chance they will get much business from it.

UPDATE:

After having discussed the issue with a few Newegg CS, an arrangement has been reached. Newegg CS did not deny that there was a "problem" needing to be addressed near the end of the exchange and made changes to their agreement. What's more, they issued an apology and ensured that the terms would be fully honored with contact information for detailed attention.

I was very pleased with the manner in which Newegg CS approached the complaint - they made efforts to conclude with a decision that would best resolve the issue. In retrospect, I would have to say that their CS came through to maintain their customer.

Newegg has always been honest and upheld their part of any deals they make. Seems you jumped the gun with this post. If you really want bad customer service and to get ripped of go to tigerdirect.com

I would like to think that I was not quick to accuse. I spoke with different Newegg CS until a resolution was reached. They did not initially agree to my views but I maintain communication. I now agree that Newegg is honest, and they have shown that they would honor promises to keep customer commitment.

In my opinion, any place have a lot of mail in rebates like TigerDirect are usually corrupt. MIR has become the new "bait and switch" tactic in certain cases, especially with small rebates. Why give money to a busines and ask for it to be returned later? Wouldn't a reduction in price cut all the paperwork and energy to get the money back? I don't get it.

One thing I've noticed about Newegg is that you really have to get the right customer service agent in order to get good service. Many of them don't seem to care anymore, or are not given authority to do much.

That said, wrc_06, is there a reason you prefer to do RMAs through Newegg and not the manufacturer of the products? If you buy retail items, the manufacturer is generally pretty good for the most part from what I've seen.

The RMAs through Newegg are faster than the manufacturer from my experience. So yes, I do prefer Newegg over downloading forms and faxing. I was also given the impression that there is a contract between Newegg and manufacturers to manage RMAs. I assume the process is the same with the exception of manner in which the process starts.

Fair enough. I don't have a lot of experience with many manufacturers, so I don't know how all of them are.
