Brain Dead Wal-Mart?

Well, I tried to post a link and make a picture show in the post, but no luck. The link seems to work though. Right click and open in a new tab/window to have a look.

The text going with it is:

I know they don't pay the workers much at Wal-Mart. But that doesn't mean the workers should stop thinking.
We came across this "great" offer Saturday, 4.15.06. We brought the SNAFU to an employee's attention. Unfortunately, we got nothing but a numb response. And the employee was actually working in the veggie/fruit-section. Oh well......

A little later we looked at some T-bone steak. It was a marked down two-pack. But one of them was clearly not a T-bone steak. Obviously another SNAFU. An employee was working nearby in the meat dept. putting out new stuff. So we brought the matter to the worker. We got a funny "DUH"-look back. Not the response we had hoped for. Another Oh well.....

Since this seems to be a trend that happens more and more often, I wonder if any Wal-Mart/other "super store"-employee out there could comment on this? Any other of you shoppers experienced this?

This stuff has been going on since the dawn of time and will continue anytime there are human beings involved.

I love their "rollbacks". They have an item, say $17.57, then it goes up to $23.xx a few months later, and then a few weeks after that it's a "rollback" at $19.xx!!

Yeah, their "rollbacks" are frequently just advertising hype to give customers the impression that they are getting a better deal. But marking up prices on products at one point and then marking them down only slightly later and calling this a "sale" is an old trick. Unless the consumer keeps track of the prices on items in a store from week to week and month to month, they can't know with any certainty what kind of deal a sale price is really offering them. Consumers would be better off saving and using their register receipts from competing stores as a basis for price comparison when they go to Walmart to shop.
