UBID Beware

I have purchase several things from UBID. My first was a refurb Toshiba notebook. When I got it out of the box it was dead and so was the power supply. I asked for the seller to contact me so I could just explain it was the power supply. No way I had to ship the whole thing back at my cost, however I did get UBID to reimburse me the cost of $16.51. When I called to check on when I would get it back I was told the seller did not have it, I had to inform them he signed for it two days ago. When I finally got it back it had XP home on it not XP media. UBID paid to have the software upgraded to XP Pro. Well once I loaded it the video drivers did not work I had to order the disk from Toshiba in order to get the notebook to what it needs to be.

My next item was a DVD recorder player. I do not know about anyone else, but when I purchase a player recorder I do not ask "does the remote come with it", guess I need to learn that one since this did not come with a remote cost of the remote $44 cost of the player $60 total cost $104 for a refurb, I could have purchased a new one for $ 129.00 The site never said no remote just said refurb DVD player recoreder. If I returned it, it would cost me 15% plus the shipping. So to anyone who might be purchasing beware.

I am waiting on the last item from them I can not wait to see what does not come with it. But I know one thing I will never buy again from them.

UBID is absolutely horrible. I purchased an adapter for my ipod which was advertised as brand new. When I received the product, it was anything but new. Surprisingly, customer service agreed to have it sent back in lieu of a replacement. When I received the replacement which was supposed to be brand new, it was not either. I tried calling ubid.com to have the thing sent back and my money refunded. They said they would contact the vendor and have it sent back and never did. It's been a wild goose chase. I'm just thankful I didn't spend more money. NEVER AGAIN WILL I EVER SHOP AT ubid.com I will make sure my friends know NEVER to shop there either. It's a total scam. I've never had problems with ebay.com or half.com.
