ouch, me too

I ordered my gaming sys from XtremeGear (I think they're a related company) over the weekend, and after reading the reviews...again...eek. It's going to be a HUGE pile of money to toss away if the system is crap. And I didn't put it on my Am-ex, which lets me hold billing on any disputed charges.

I did put on my "comments" section of my order that phone approval would be necessary before making ANY substitutions, but you pretty much void that when you agree (check box) to their terms of sale/warranty. I also added that I ordered from them despite their low reseller ratings, and that I hoped they would prove them wrong. Told then I'd be happy to write them a "glowing review" if they managed to not SCREW this order up

Figured since I ordered it rush, to be shipped next business day; I could call this morning to discuss any "out of stock" items. Could be worse...we could have ordered from Digital Storm!

so much for that idea

Looks like my "it's hard to screw up a rush job" idea has fallen through. I was hoping that forcing XtremeGear to assemble my pc all at once would help me avoid their most reported problem; pc's shipped with missing, wrong, or unassembled parts. Figured it was maybe an assembly line type of problem, where you can forget where you are in a complicated process if you have to wait on something from backorder.

Think you made the right decision there, two companies I dropped quickly from my list of prospective builders were Cyberpower and Ibuypower, one look at their ratings and reading the horror stories from customers was enough.

The companies I'm considering are Envision,Directron,or JNCS.I was considering Monarch, but their ratings don't seem to to match their track record where custom built systems are concerned.KC Computers are also very well rated, though their prices are higher than the others.
