How's Directron for custom systems?

Most of the feedback I've seen is on sales of seperate components. How do they rate in quality of work and support with custom bulit systems?

Yes,that's why I'm considering them, their rating is higher than many, like Monarch and Cyberpower. But with companies that sell a lot of seperate components,it's hard to get an idea how good their complete systems and support is,since the majority of reviews deal with individual parts sales.I'm trying to get some feedback from those who purchased a custom built system from them.

slightly off topic; but- I've seen the ones they put together on their website, they didn't look all that special. I'm building a gamer this week using parts from their site, though. I've spent a little over 1500 on parts and mod items, and it blows away anything they've got listed- which is why I'm going the DIY route. But this system is a gift for a friend, so I've got time to get it right.
I love Directron. Of course, I can walk in and pick up my order, so everything is right, every time. But I can say they are super about returns. I've probably returned 5 video cards in the last month, nothing wrong with the cards; just me trying to fit one that my legacy POS could handle without crashing, and they never batted an eye, or made me go thru a lot of BS. That said, I have seen them go OFF on the guy in front of me, to the point where I couldn't believe he wasn't hopping the counter, or walking out. But it hasn't happened to me, and they've been uber helpful.

The pre-configured systems aren't the only option, but I don't think many people realize it.You can pick and choose every component in a system from their inventory and have them build a system for you. It's a bit more complicated than most sites, there's no configuration page, you just pick the parts, add them to your shopping cart, then add the system build option to the cart. You do have to know which parts are compatable, but it gives you a very wide choice.

you're right, I didn't know that

I knew about the bundled component picking. When I found my mobo, the page had options for adding CPU and cards. But that just annoyed me, because it bundled them together on the check out page, and I had to start over when I wanted a better video card. Wonder what it'd cost to get them to do it, though it's a bit late now :-)I started assembly on this beast last night.
So far, my biggest gripe on this system was NOT the way I had to cram the front fan into this Ultra case. I really thought it was NOT going into it's assigned recess without shaving it (impossible) or breaking it; way more likely. In the end; it did go in. Nope. It's the wretched mobo; this stupid MSI board that's SLI ready, dual core compatible has no darned 1394 support. Who'd have thought it? Not me, for sure, and not MSI either, because they had a retraction 'addendum' In my box, and the IEEE 1394 under the bar-code was blacked out in magic marker. Didn't bother slashing thru the pic of it on the "in this box" though, and I spent 1/2 an hour rummaging thru the boxes looking for it, before going back to Directron and re-reading the specs. Then being irked at myself for not quadruple checking them before buying it. No fire-wire is like saying...no usb support, who'd even look twice? I had the manual offline before I bought the board, it it was certainly on that. Might take it back.
